I’ve expected Hasbro to announce a classic Jack O’Lantern figure around Halloween now for years. I didn’t think they’d go all in Halloween-ish Spidey characters with the same announcement, though!

I know nothing about All Hallow’s Eve, but the design looks great. Checking out her appearances on Marvel Unlimited now.

I've found Hallow's Eve comic appearances to be okay, but I love the costume and power set.  She could very easily have been a 1960's Spidey Villain.  It's rare that a new character hits such a classic mark and I support it.  I'm in for the whole wave, but agree we could have fewer Spider-variants per wave.

It's funny, I re looked up Hallow's Eve, the other day, when someone mentioned her, & after seeing her, I thought "Hmm, she'd make a great figure, and would be easy to make." Then a few days later, she's revealed. 😀 😆

I jumped off Spider-Man during the Nick Spencer run. I didn't even realize Zeb Wells/Dan Slott were writing him now, and that's coming from someone who still reads comics.

They really need to hand the title to Chip Zdarsky. He's done the best Spider-Man stories I've ever read, and he's only been allowed to use Spidey as a side character, in non-canonical stuff (his Spider-Man Life Story is wonderful), and in offshoot titles.

Spencer's run was my jumping off point too, I just completely gave up on modern Spider-Man once that went down in flames. Everything I know about this current run is mostly hearsay, but I have peeked it out a little for myself here or there.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think any writer is going to be able to dig the book out of the trenches, no matter how good they might be. I think one of the reasons Zdarsky's stuff works is because he's sticking with writing Spider-Man in offshoots and non-canon stuff. The main title just has too much editorial meddling going on for anything worthwhile to actually happen in it.

100%. Spider-Man's rogues' gallery has some glaring holes/much-needed redos. They must be almost out of Spider-Verse Spider-People at this point.

The longer my Superior Foes goes without an Overdrive, the more I think we're never getting him. You're right there at the goal, Hasbro, you've been there for YEARS.

I mean it makes sense to try to raise a lady Spidey villain up in the ranks of his rogue's gallery. Black Cat is really the only one in the A- to B+ range. Madame Web and Silver Sable prob in the B- to C+ range. Though I guess it's par for the course with classic comics characters. What male classic character has more than one A list lady villain? Batman with Poison Ivy and Catwoman only one that comes to mind.

I mean; I get it. It keeps tooling costs down and keeps some form of Spider-Man on the shelves at all times. Just think they could space it out a little better. You'd think the A lister villains would warrant a figure or improvement every 3 or so years. They still haven't displaced my TB classic Kraven or Vulture. As great as their Vulture head sculpt is not sculpting the texture in his body suit keeps him block. Comic Kraven in true Silver Age painting scheme remains undone after like 3 attempts. Classic Goblin still floating around half finished. There are others obviously.

He's just a repainted AIM buck with a new head right? Surely there's a GI Joe helmet sculpt that might work for a custom.

@derrabbi

Oh he's a very easy character to customize or even just kitbash, but it's really more the principle of the matter at this point. He's literally the only character we've needed to complete this team for years and they cranked out the first four so quickly, so that they've waited so long to do Overdrive is really baffling to me.

Questions about the Retro Classic Spidey from 2020: I see a lot of those on eBay.  From China, mostly. But now there are a bunch for around $30.00 or so in the States. Are the ones from China knockoffs or something?  And are the ones now going for 30-ish being sold by people who bought the Chinese versions and are reselling them?

Does anyone have any thoughts on these?  I don’t want to get an inferior product, nor necessarily a bootleg.  But I’ve waited a while for Hasbro to offer this guy again.

I missed out on classic Spidey, ’cuz I started buying Spidey figs in 2021.  I have Amazing Fantasy, and Renew Your Vows, but I’d still like a late ‘70s to mid ‘80s Spidey, which is what the classic Retro reminds me of.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Bootleg. Not the real one. The quality is not great.

According to this, the 2024 Captain America film BAF film wave most probably will have 4 movie figures and 3 comic figures.

Tombstone's a great update, and he's been a fave of mine since the Spectacular animated series (Good ole' Keith David).

I wasn't expecting Hallow's Eve, but she looks real nice.

Spider-Assassin is another unexpected one but a welcome addition to my spider-verse shelf.

Oh, not even close. That's a well they can keep pumping for years.

And once that finally runs dry, there's an entire Venomverse they can milk.

Thanks.

I’m glad I asked, because based on the pics on eBay, it looks like the real deal. Due to it being carded and all.

By the way, how can you tell?  Is it simply due to the price being too good to be true?

@hulkster1 there is a guy on youtube who does video comparisons of the original and the two different unofficial versions. The one you can buy now is probably version two, which is actually worse than the first ko version.
