Just received Rogue and Destiny. I ordered two sets, which is fortunate for me. They came in a brown shipper that covers the actual box. The first one I opened, Rogue was missing a paint application that would have wrapped the light green around her calf. The second set did not have this issue, so that's my keeper.
Rogue has one of those torsos that just pivots at the waist. Also a barbell neck joint. Not the end of the world for this version, as I appreciate the uniquely sculpted costume, and she doesn't need too much agility at this point in her appearances. Nice sculpted down hood, but kinda wish she had an option for putting her hood up. Gloves are sculpted overlays. Aforementioned boots are just painted details.
Destiny is pretty nice, but leans toward road cone. The cape is very stiff and covers her shoulders, which could limit some poses. She seems busty to me, but comparing with other figures, nothing unusual. The mask has some strange intentional swirly lines printed over the gold, which seems a weird way to interpret the mask. At least I don't see her mask as having lines like that. Should just be gold. Her double elbows help to put her hands to her head for some clairvoyant poses. It's nice to have both figures to finish off this version of the Brotherhood.
BUT I can't believe this set was $50. Each figure came with an alternate pair of hands, but otherwise, it's VERY bare bones.
I am overjoyed to finally have Destiny. I remember first seeing her in the Days of Future Past story-line as it released and blew my young mind. She's plays such a fundamental role in my early X-Men memories I honestly have felt her absence as a hole in my X-men villains figure collection since the Toy Biz 5 inch days.
My figure doesn't have any swirly lines in the mask, so Norm, you may just have gotten unlucky there. I get the disappointment in the lack of pack ins in the two pack, but, at least for Destiny I'm not sure what else would have made sense to include... an unmasked old lady head would have been pretty weird for an "action figure".
An alternate head for Rogue with the white stripes on the sides of her head instead of the top would have been good though... also the option for a hood-up look could have worked. So I do agree that they could have plused up this offering a bit for us. Given this is a pack of two-female characters and the relative small bang-for-buck pack-out I wouldn't be entirely shocked if this one eventually reaches a discount status.
Even so, I love it.

The Rogue and Pyro 2-pack went to clearance in a lot of places so I'm sure this one will as well.
What price were people expecting aside from $50? The standard price for any figure is $25 now, so two means $50. I get complaining about no real accessories and I agree, but I don't think we're going to see any 2-packs under $50 at any point in the future unless one of the figures is quite small--and even then I'm sure they'll throw in enough accessories to get the price point for the small figure up to $25.
I'm not liking the torso sculpt (positioning) on Rogue. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep her anyway, but in hand, the decision was easy- eBay it is. Very happy with Destiny other than the dark wash on the upper part of her cape. Wasn't expecting such contrast, but no biggie.

Agreed. An extra head for Rogue or unmasked Irene head would have gone a long way.
Saw the official announcement that Wal Mart Collector Con - featuring Green Costume Quicksilver - will officially be October 17 and 18. So a little under two weeks until we can get our order in for our last official 2024 program figure.
I just hate them beginning to skip articulation more and more regularly. They skipped knees on Lockjaw, and now a diaphragm joint on Rogue. Is there something about her torso design I'm overlooking that inspired them to skip that joint? A ball waist in addition to a diaphragm is great, but a ball waist is an inferior complete replacement for a diaphragm.
I also hate that heavy mascara look they used on Sharon Carter in the SHIELD 3-pack, and Rogue here looks much like that. I was hoping Carter looked better in hand, but it doesn't. I'm sure I'll hate this Rogue head in hand as well.
Honestly the heavy mascara look for this version of Rogue is actually much more character accurate and differentiates this Rogue as the early "evil" Rogue from some of the later Rogue portraits, so I don't mind it nearly as much as I did on Sharon.

Is Destiny still old in the comics? When she was resurrected did they de-age her?
@panthercult Oh its accurate to Avengers Annual Rogue or whatever. Just I don't know that I can display so many Rogues and my preference would be a Paul Smith era X-Men Rogue. Not b/c she's "younger or prettier" just she is more of a well rounded character and the basis of the character she becomes.

I thought I saw someone post some comic art that looked a lot like that Sharon head also - it's not a run I've read, but I think it was based on the books.

Marvel doesn't like old people. Ask Agatha Harkness.
Half kidding I get it. It makes sense. Aunt May being 85 while Peter was 15 was always weird.

I generally like not to complain because there's plenty of that to go around, but I'm definitely having a hard time stomaching this set at $50. I wouldn't have expected it to be less given that's what a 2-pack costs, but comparing it against similar offerings the difference is glaring.
I can rattle off a list of accessories that would have worked (a crossbow, extra heads for both, another Mystique transforming head, etc) - but rather than loading the box out you know what I would have wanted more than anything? Sculpted boots and a waist cut for Destiny. Really getting tired of buying figures with painted on details.
Just opened Rogue and Destiny and uh heheheh yeah Irene does seem conspicuously busty. I mean: get it Raven, no shame. But yeah Destiny seems like a big deviance from the current trend of more downplayed and “scrunched behind fabric” chest areas on Legends figures.
Actually, this Rogue is also pretty “tits up”, to quote Midge Maisel. Huh.
@panthercult regarding the swirly lines on Destiny’s mask, I just watched Robo’s review, and his has the swirls too. It’s definitely intentional.
