Hasbro once gave a character that came packaged with a two-wheeled vehicle fist hands and splayed hands.......NO grip hands to hold the handlebars. The figure couldn't stay on the vehicle they came packaged with! Who knows who I'm talking about?
This one mostly fits that bill, although I don't believe she came with fist hands but just splayed hands.
Ah, I think you're right, she did NOT have fist hands. Still, look at this pic. NO ONE at Hasbro was willing to say, "You know, for $0.00 we could make this figure functional with the scooter that we doubled the price for."
That Squirrel Girl hand situation was definitely a big oversight. But I'm not nearly as irked by Quicksilver though. There are so many extra hands in my parts bin that can donate running hands for him, but also, I don't always plan to have him displayed running. And when he's just standing there in a display, it does look a bit silly to me when he's got knife hands standing still. Those open hands he comes with work well for him standing impatiently with his hands on his hips.
@hbhfback I could see it being the figures from the EOV at least. Would track with the possible Mephisto tease.
Already seen Hellstrom and Goblin Queen from the AoV HasLab, pretty much just Robbie himself and Mephisto that remain.
@aceofknaves Goblin Queen was just the '97 version, yeah? Feel like they did the model for the comic version so that's gottta be at least a possibility.
I would not consider the '97 Goblin Queen a passable stand in for a comic Goblin Queen. The costumes are not close enough. But if we're just counting characters, then I guess they've checked off a box there. If they're gonna make a comic Goblin Queen, they could at least get the bottoms and thigh highs right. Bare midriff, full top. The exposed underboob always seemed gratuitous to me.
@normdapito Yeah, and I don't think you're alone there. Robbie, Mephisto and comic GQ would nearly be a wave on their own, or fodder for some sort of deluxe/two-packs stuff like they've been doing. I sort of wonder what else the second chance could be referring to.
The second chance could be solo deluxe release of the Mindless One BAF. With my luck it will probably be a wider distribution of Warbird now that I've already spent twice retail for her on ebay. It could also just be the X-Men '97 Rogue or another X-Men 97 figure. Target has had some Red Hulk deluxes getting re-issued but I don't ever remember an official announcement of that happening. Could also be another opportunity to order the arcade sentinels also. It could be just about anything, honestly - but I doubt it's going to be anything from the failed Engine of Vengeance HasLab. I'm not personally expecting it to be anything I'd want or don't already have.
I think we will be getting Mephisto. But I REALLY want that Goblin Queen from the engine of vengeance set. It looked so good. Something tells me their 97 release was “good enough” for them but I hope I’m wrong.
The second chance could be solo deluxe release of the Mindless One BAF.
Yes, hoping they do this as well soon. Brutal to try to army build BAFs...
@stephenwdavis Oooh the Mindless One would be nice. I wasn't willing to do Ebay just for that one, but a single-release I'd probably go for. As for he EOV, they already released Hellstrom and he's less popular that Mephisto or comic Goblin Queen (and she's at least partially reuse I'd bet), so I'd wager they at least are still possible. Robbie maybe not, but you never know.
Yeah - if they do a single release Mindless one, if if the deco color is slightly different, I would grab up at least two... maybe three. Army builder BAFs suck
re: Goblin Queen, do we really want the version shown with the HasLab? Feels like the 97 version is basically that, but with more individualized sculpting. Personally, I don’t feel the need to advocate for another GQ unless they wanna go full-out with her iconic design, which seems unlikely.
I want the headsculpt from the EoV Goblin Queen absolutely. To immediately put on a Phoenix figure.
While I'd like a Mindless One standalone release, I'm not sure they'd release one while the BAF is still available for purchase.
I don't see why they couldn't/wouldn't release Robbie Keyes as a standalone figure. They've released Ghost Rider without his ride before. I can see them doing so for Robbie.
There are so many re-releases possible, the hint could be for anything. The symbols for money suggest maybe it's not something simple like a regular figure. Although, I easily could be reading into that "hint."
