Is this the future of film waves? Just a few main characters, but not necessarily 6-7 of them?
No more film/comic split?
I can see the Thunderbolts wave being a fully fledged out wave.
I, personally, would be happy with that. I know I've had lots of back and forths with some on here about it, but I'm happy to buy Wolverine and Colossus, rather than getting Wolverine and five other figures I don't want in order to get Colossus. Would I like more movie figures to be made? Of course, but I'm fine with this compromise.
Yeah, Thunderbolts and movies like FF or the Avengers sequels would make sense to get a proper, full wave, or waves with Avengers. But even Thunderbolts, I plan to only get three from the characters I'm aware will be appearing.
I think Thunderbolts ends up a full on movie wave with 6 or 7 figures. FF.....I am hoping it's all movie so we get more than just the FF themselves
@e-rock I hope all that too. Actually, if they do a US Agent with a shield, I might add that to my list too.
FF, yeah I would love if the wave was more than just the four. But right now I'll feel lucky to get the entire team during the year of the film's release.
The Deadpool & Wolverine situation is interesting. The official first look photo of the two in costume was released 7/10/23 - four days before the actors strike. It's possible given the level of involvement of the top-level stars in this film, that photo could have been all that was authorized to be released before the strike. And then nothing else got approved until mid-November when the strike concluded. Which would put the figures on track for a... December release, which is what they have.
And possibly why we got the stopgap Legacy editions of only these two characters, available on release.
However, for a film that was originally on track for a May 2024 release, I don't think the studio could wait that long to start getting assets to vendors. It's possible approvals got delayed until the strike was up, and at that point, knowing the movie schedule was likely getting completely shuffled, Hasbro said f it and pulled all the MCU figures out of BAF waves - hence the mash-up Zabu wave.
I'll be curious to see in what format Cap 4 figures get released - BAF or no.
I'm also curious how the civvies Logan happened - I'm guessing they had another character ready to go but then either approvals took too long or Marvel didn't end up releasing that character's involvement so Hasbro decided to call it Headpool and make this new head, new jacket, new boots version.
I'm going to guess it was Cassandra but then Marvel barely put her in the first Superbowl promo and maybe decided not to emphasize her. Or possibly share her final design <--- going with that one.
This is all just me verbally processing. I wish Hasbro could talk about stuff like this after the fact, I find the puzzle so intriguing.

As someone who no longer collects movie figures I also hope for this.
Its bad enough having useless baf pieces when I only buy a few comic figures from the wave with a movie BaF. Its worse having useless MCU figures I had to buy to complete a comic BaF, like with last year's Marvels wave.
So, Im happier when its like the Guardians 3 wave which I can simply skip.
@panthercult right? No sarcasm or sneering, but that's how I feel every time I see an all comic wave. Cool for you guys, no problem for me.
Does the new Punisher body have the super articulated torso?
I have to say - the future of Legends is looking pretty bright if that's going to be a standard along with pinless. Almost wish they'd modified the X-Men 97 Wolverine torso for the new Secret Wars brown/tan release and inevitable Tiger Stripe releases. That would probably as close as we get to THE ultimate Wolverine figures.
@enforcer it appears that he does. At first I thought it was just the Vulcan buck, because of the glove lines on the forearms, but I think it's just using the arms from that body.
I thought it was the Vulcan body at first, too. They seemed to indicate that the Punisher body is larger than the Vulcan body, though. We'll be pushing 1/10 scale soon.
They said at the panel that the Punisher body is all new.
A Bullseye on the new Punisher body might be kinda cool.

I assumed they just meant Punisher was larger in bulk and not height. We'll see.

Great, a new body with sculpted glove lines 🤣

See... this is why we can't have nice things. No matter how much I'm begging for never been done characters to be the focus of the line there is always someone that wants this character they've already done like 8 times done again on the newest body.... 😛
Then how about both Shotgun, and Solo on the new Punisher body? 😀A Bullseye on the new Punisher body might be kinda cool.
