So, I wonder how many of the Walgreens exclusives they plan to re-release like this. Are there some people feel they really need? I could see them doing Mystique to go with the Destiny/Rogue set, maybe.
Oh I really hope they don't do the Mystique. I'd much rather have her on an updated body.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a ML that could be used to make a custom Blight figure from Batman Beyond?
Finding that kind of stylized blazer jacket on a figure is tough...
Maybe What If.....? T'Challa? It would definitely take some mods, but it's got that same sort of trim cut to it.
(I know this question was a couple pages back, but this new forum will sometimes send me back several pages when I come in and click on a thread, so here we are).
We're getting a new Magik figure and it's just a re-release of the subpar Walgreens exclusive? Oof. That's a gut punch.
Yeah, re-releasing THAT Magik is pretty frickin' lame. She's always been too small and she's already been released TWICE in this outfit. Why are they Brother Voodoo'ing her - this figure does not need a photoreal deco. She needs an entirely new figure in a different outfit.
Lame. Hasbro's repeating and repeating characters this year is getting boring.
Is there any reason to think this is anything but a straight reissue of Magik? That's worlds different than slotting the same figure into a wave, or making a new Magik figure in this same outfit - this is just a reissue that puts the old figure out there again for anyone who wants it. What's the problem?

Preternia says it's a reissue.
As a huge Magik fan, it sucks. It's proof that Hasbro knows the old figure is in high demand but they aren't committing resources to redoing her. That figure was subpar when it first released six years ago. That costume is also bad.
I've seen some folks take the head and arm from that and put them on the team uniform Dani Moonstar body. I always thought that looked good, but I'm not invested in the character enough to do it. She's standing on my Russian/Winter Guard shelf beside Colossus in the released outfit, and that's enough for me.
Awww man... I was just about to finally turn that figure into Moira - Moira's face, Karma's hair, Moira's labcoat and arms.
But I like that!
I honestly wish I'd been able to find more than one of those figures. I'd do much the same as others in having Dani, Shan, Rahne, and at the very least Illyana. I even somehow have the headpiece from the old Magik figure from the 90s. Amazing that didn't get lost over the decades.
They still need to do proper training uniform young teen New Mutants.

Agreed. And while I've generally moved away from buying X-characters (too damn many of them), I would be all-in for proper training uniform New Mutants figures. Mirage, Wolfsbane (2-pack with a wolf form), Cannonball (swappable legs/blast effect), Karma, Sunspot and Magma (both powered and de-powered), and Magik. I'd also take Cypher. But the Mirage I REALLY want is when she was a Valkyrie.

That's interesting - I guess I don't think of a reissue as precluding another version of the character getting made - more of a quick way to get a demanded figure back out, few resources required. If anything, it makes me suspect there's a new Magik just around the corner.
Completely agree about the costume though.
Hah! Their costume really had an 'X' badge on top of their 'X' body suit? At least tell me they were actually X-Men at the time.
