Anything different about that War Machine? I love that armor, but the original figure was a bit short, and the pauldrons and hips limited the range of motion of the figure a bit. 

@akatsuki To my eye he looks exactly the same. Same accessories, etc. And no unmasked head. He's the only one in the wave without an unmasked head, and only he and Banner have one head. Even Thor got an alt head.

I didn't realize Civil War Iron Man was part of this wave, I thought it was just MK II. I hope the unmasked head they included is scaled down from the one that share the sculpt, the Infinity Saga 2pk of final battle Iron Man vs Thanos. 

Like Black Widow, I've already kitbashed that same Winter Soldier stealth suit Captain America using newer heads. And that Spidey.. Come on, haven't we gotten that at least five times by now?

Thor looks good with the printed head and sleeved arms. Looking at my shelves, I don't even think I have a Thor to represent The Dark World, let alone ANY other characters from that movie. So I guess that's a purchase.

War Machine is fine, but come on! Give us an unmasked Don Cheadle likeness!

I already planned to pick up MK II and Banner, those are definite purchases. But this is really a very lackluster wave. I guess I'm delusional, but I think these should only be $20 each, with no BAF parts.

I'm a little bummed that there isn't a Fury figure. I think it'll just be Banner for me. 

Widow and Iron Man would be strictly for the heads so I might wait on those. Although the original release of this Widow was my first ever 6 inch MCU Legend purchase way back in 2014, so I feel compelled to get her for nostalgia sake. I guess it's a good time for new collectors to jump in. As much as I'd love this wave to be full of new characters or atleast new outfits I do hope it does well because I suspect the profit from these will fund future waves that will include new characters. Is it too soon to plan 2024 Best of MCU wave? Haha

Yeah, I kinda felt the same way about it being a lackluster wave. Cap is the only definite for me and I'm not all that excited for it. If Fury WAS part of the wave, I'd definitely preorder both and feel good about it but as it is now, eh. I may wait for November or something.

I like the new Thor heads but AOU Thor is my main one and I'm not having another version that is so similar. At least they didn't just put out the Marvel Studios Dark World figure again and gave him the smiling head.

I'm not sure about the Tony head. It looks like it scales well to the figure at least, but the armored neck bothers me now heh.

I don't think that Widow was my first one but she was the figure that got me to go all in on Legends since it meant I could finally get all six of the Avengers.

And calling it "The Best Of" wave like you did I think really shines a light on the attitude behind this wave. They call it Infinity Saga but Rektangular was right to call it Best Of since it's mostly repaints with some new heads here and there. Repaints, a kitbash, some new heads, and the pictures of Widow make it look like she has some new parts beyond just the elbows. So if they were to do another wave like this, I'd expect revisits to existing figures again. I'd love a return to the original Infinity Saga style which, yes, had kitbashes and repaints but also included stuff like Quicksilver, Iron Monger, Surtur, and Odin.

This line is more akin to that Black Panther wave with him, Shuri, Nakia, and M'Baku, that led into the Wakanda Forever wave. I don't really equate this with the Infinity Saga sub-line that came out for the MCU 10th anniversary or even the one that gave us Surtur and such.

Major whiff by Hasbro on most of this wave.

That Spider-Man costume sculpt was never accurate. At least there is an unmasked head that isn't in a multi pack.

Ditto on the CW Iron Man - an unmasked Tony head that isn't in a multi-pack is a first. Otherwise, it's a dated figure that didn't need to be re-released.

I've already kitbashed the Winter Solder Cap with a better masked and unmasked head. So of course.

Right. And all of these characters have versions yet to be done. You don't even need to deep-dive into Iron Man 3 for new Tonys. His Iron Man 2 armors are due for upgrades and they've never done his AOU mk 45. Rhodey has a couple armors still to do even before Armor Wars comes out, Thor has a couple between Ragnarok and Love & Thunder believe it or not, Widow has her first appearance and Civil War (which, as some of us have already pointed out here, is mostly ready with the IW figure), Cap's WW2 suit, Banner... well a proper Smart Hulk with his unitard, and Spider-Man has his ten-second suit though it's clearly massively desired.

This wave is a nice idea, and I'm glad they're able to save some money here and seems like everyone in the thread has different figures they'll pick up from the wave so that seems kinda rounded out. But yeah, like the Wakanda Forever wave it's cool but also needs to be supplemented with at least a few actually new figures.

Also, is listing Fury in this wave the first thing Rektangular was wrong about for the 2023 leak list? I wonder if he's a store exclusive or something, or should I just give up hope, heh.

It's a bit of a "meh" wave for me as well. Really bummed that Fury didn't get a slot, but surely he's one they'll redo eventually, even as an exclusive or something, so I'll hold out hope. The only ones I'm really interested in are Spidey, Bruce, and Widow, but I don't think I'd pay full price for any of them, to be honest. It's nice to have newer, face-printed versions of some older figures (even if some of the likenesses are still a bit off), but I'd rather save my money for the other waves with new or more interesting characters.

It would have been cool had they included another head for the Iron Man mk 2 with Rhodey's face. At least give us that!

Also think it's interesting they (I believe) used the Marvel Studios CW Cap head on the WS body, but the unmasked head is from the WW2 set with Peggy Carter. Am I wrong?

And is that Spider-Man literally a repaint of the CW figure? I'm actually not sure it's the Homecoming body.

This is the only shot where you can kinda see his back, and that's the best way for me to distinguish as the Homecoming spider symbol on the back is thicker but this looks like the thinner-legged one from the CW figure.

I am usually very forgiving of Hasbro. I think the general fandom gives them wayyyy too much flack over the tiniest details. That being said…what a waste of a wave. MCU figures across the board have gotten exponentially better over the last 5 years or so. These figures are noticeably outdated. The paint jobs look great, I’ll give them that, but of the ones I wanted to buy:

Spider-Man: WTF. The FFH mold is vastly superior. Slap on some new lower arms and you could have made a decent CW/HC suit. If that’s too wild of an idea, Just re-release the HC figure with new paint! Why on earth would you deliberately use the inaccurate suit from the CW 3 pack, Hdurhdhdjkdkdyehdkl

Cap America: Once again…a vastly superior mold exists in the previous infinity saga figure. New arms, chest remold and boom you have s fantastic WS Cap, but instead we get the figure that’s had cartoony proportions from the get-go

Thor: Literally the same figure as the MS First 10 years line just repainted. Don’t know what I expected here. I just want a Thor figure from any other movie given the same Love they have Endgame Thor. 

Thor is a slippery slope to me since he's usually taller than the other figures, except the Endgame one. I didn't get the L&T figures so I'm not sure if they went back to making him taller again or not, but I really like him taller so I got rid of the Endgame figure.
