Great to be back! Couple questions about basic usability - if anyone knows how to get this stuff to work let me know, please:
On the old forums I was able to click a little icon next to a thread to take me to the last unread post in that thread. That doesn't seem to be an option anymore.
Second, there used to be a link at the bottom of each thread to take me back to the subforum. So if I read the TMNT Super7 thread I could then click the link after the last post to take me back to the TMNT forum. That's gone as far as I can tell, so now I have to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to return to the sub-forum.
I usually have a tab open for TMNT, GI Joe, and MOTU. Currently each tab is just called "Forum" with nothing to distinguish one from another.
Yea, the forum title doesnt change but we do have bread crumbs feature so you can go to the sub-forum (located right on top the the thread title in a blue live link. hope that helps.

I believe that's the same thing that you'd get if you clicked "copy direct link" like is being suggested, but I'm not seeing that as an option on Imgur. However, the image that I tried posting earlier in the thread was also a direct link--just hosted elsewhere--and it didn't work correctly. It's weird and inconsistent.

Correct. In Imgur, when you click "Get share links," you need to select "BBCode (Forums)" and remove the image tags on the front and back end. Technically, you could successfully post the image with those tags, but then they'll appear in your post as plain text.

What a pain, couldn't get the links from Facebook to work either. Cant open images in Flickr and all the other links don't work. This is how I got it to work. Made some spaces in the link so it wouldn't display the image
I used the embed address then pulled the img address out.

I personally think the new forums are great, better than the old forums. you can move faster around the site. we gained some things but lost some as well but nothing too crazy.
I just read through about 150 notification emails from the forum for today. Following threads this way is not a good experience. You don't know who is posting, there is no way to get to the actual post via the email (only the topic is linked) and inline images are not scaled, so they aren't easily visible.
On the old forum, I relied on subscriptions to follow the threads I was interested in, and even when the email notifications stopped working, I was still able to follow via the user panel. You only received emails/alerts for the first new post for you in a thread vs every new post in a thread.
I don't know if there is anyway to improve this with Wordpress, but I've got to figure out a different way to follow the forum for now.
I know this is a work in progress, and I'm not bashing or complaining (too much). I'm just providing my experience and feedback.
