So yesterday when I created an account, it took 6 hours to recieve the confirmation email(S).
You know, the ones where I tried different email hosts, screen names for dumb syntax issues, and browser/devices,and also password resets in case there was a temporary error. They all came in 6 hours later. Very frustrating.
I'm assuming that pretty much means notifications are useless.
But anyway, it was all worth it to have this community back almost fully functional. Thank you so much Robo and anyone else who might have been helping you!
My latest post says "Awaiting moderation" at the top. Does that mean someone has to approve it because I linked photos to it, or because it was a double post? (They were seperate topics in the same forum) 😏
Edit: Looks like it was the double post? I added it to the previous post with an edit and deleted the "double post"

Sad to have lost my "joined in 2003" badge of honor, but hey I'm not above making a custom avatar or something for that sweet Fwoosh long-timer credibility.
If suggestions for improvements/other options for the forum are being solicited I'll happily weigh in. But right now I'm just glad to have my internet home back.

Things aren't perfect right now, but the launch post on the front page literally says this weekend is a test. (A test that I hope stays live 😊 ).
This new forum has some kinks that will be worked out and some shortcomings that won't. Robo says it's easier to manage and not held together by chewed bubblegum, duct tape, and good fortune. That's enough for me. If we have to trade by pointing each other to our Instagram DMs, it's a small price to pay.
This is a free service, and I'm grateful to Robo and the rest of the Fwoosh team for getting us back on our feet. I know I speak for myself and a ton of others when I say I missed this place desperately. I don't think I've said thank you yet, but thank you.
If any of you watch the HBO docuseries How To with John Wilson, this week's episode reminded me of the Fwoosh. Wilson takes an essay prompt, this week's being "How to watch the game," and interviews eclectic New Yorkers, letting the interviews lead him where they may. This prompt eventually took him to a vacuum collector's convention. It was like looking in the mirror. The collectors all felt the same sense of shame that I had for much of my life around toy collecting (and still do, to a degree); there were familiar origin stories about a special relative introducing them to vacuums (or toys, in our case); and, ultimately, Wilson reflected on the value of the community the collectors achieved through their hobby. I recommend the whole series because it's sometimes touching and almost always funny, but I would especially recommend the last episode to this group. As an added bonus, the episodes are only 30 minutes each.

I do hope the Proboards option is explored, as I think it's a simple solution that would address practically all of the flaws people are pointing out., but if not - oh well. I'll make due with this setup.

in case you missed it, robo flat out said tapatalk isn't an option. he then immediately said its because somehow this thing that requires work and maintenance and effort to still have less features than the alternative is somehow "easier" (it is not easier, as seen by how long it took to get this up and running and how it still lacks important functions)
In regards of functionality and ease of use, I’m less worried about my own frustration with the new forums and more worried that it’ll likely lead to a smaller, less active community as almost no folks who weren’t on the old forums will sign up and many old timers will never come back because they’ve broken the habit of checking.
Thankful to Robo or whoever the Admin is who un-banned me but I'm wondering if it's a mistake to post pictures as discord links. It's how I've used Fwoosh for years but with this new framework it marks my posts as "Awaiting Moderation" and I'm wondering if I'll be banned for doing it again (can't help myself, I like sharing toy pics!)
So it seems like illegal characters consist of anything that isn't a single lowercase word.

Another thing ive noticed, when i subscribe im not getting the email to confirm anymore, i was getting it before but it has stopped? but im not subscribed when i go back and check, the link is not there anymore?

The emails seem to stop working for hours at a time. I wonder if a quota is being hit?

It took over 12 hours to receive mine. Then when the email finally arrived this evening, the link to create my password was absent. Fortunately, I was able to click "forgot my password" on the site after receiving the confirmation email and set it from there.
Are these things possibly being sent out manually?
