Robo--can you enable HTML in posts for this forum? When I Google it I'm seeing people indicate that WordPress Forums does support that, and if we could use HTML then we can probably embed any image or video links that the automatic features within the editor aren't supporting.
Everyone realizes by now that sleepyhead was banned several times on the old forums, right? Just jumping in here day one to stir the pot?16 posts at the time I make this one, 14 of which are in this thread alone - all griping. For somebody that wants to talk about toys so much he sure ain't taking the opportunities to do so.

it's a lot easier to talk about toys on a forum that actually works well. excuse me for trying to advocate for a better, more functional, easier to use, and more stable solution for the entire community.

not only is this not true, but nothing about trying to solve the multiple issues with this board format for the sake of the community is "stirring the pot." if you wanna go out of your way to make your life harder, by all means. heaven forbid someone actually presents solutions to your stated problems. i'm sure i'll see you soon, brian. perhaps in friendly conversation it'll make more sense to you.

BUT......I did just install an embed function. Works with Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Flickr. Just paste the link and go.

Sounds fine, and the social media embedding is a great feature.
Many or most images still aren't going to work though. While Googling this just now I saw that there are a dozen or more forum plug-ins for WordPress--which one is the site using?
Sweet creamy Jesus. I've been waiting days to get a confirmation/password email so I could finish my sign-up with my original email and it just never came, but when I tried again it said my email was already in use. Wtf, right?
So I used an alt email and a similar-enough login. But boy howdy, I'm super stoked we're back up and running but this forum is definitely gonna take some getting used to.

Also.. why is it that this thread is basically filled with bitching and complaining about forum functionality from one or two people that, as far as I can remember, didn't even fucking post on the original board? Rings kind of hollow to be like 'I care so much about this community, I who never engaged with this community in a meaningful way before coming here to bitch about the new forums.' Unless I'm mistaken and they were just so bland and uninteresting of a poster that I never registered their existence for the 15ish years I was here. But I mean.. even then.. the point kind of stands.

Go into your account and you can give yourself the nickname Super Camel. You'll still log in as supercamel 1982 but it will appear as Super Camel.
Sorta what I meant for this thread to be when I made it. More of a "hey; new things always have a learning curve; let's share solutions" and not a "the new forums are giving me an existential crisis" meltdown forum.
That @name or @supercamel-1982 in your case is how people tag you too and how you tagged me. Had you used my new nick name it wouldn't have worked. Nice to have the reply button too that isn't a quote which isn't always needed. Or you can just type out the name.
