Welp, I turned it off at 27-0. I probably could've turned it off after the second interception.

Congratulations to the Eagles fans.

For the rest of us, the good news is Philly won't be able to keep this roster together much longer. Far too much talent on both sides of the ball. It's something of a miracle that they were able to build it in the first place.

From a KC perspective, it goes to show you can't play possum all season and expect to get away with it. It's kind of a shame Buffalo beat Baltimore. I think the Ravens could've given the Eagles all they could handle.

I don't really understand KC's roster construction. They rebuilt the offensive line after Mahomes was under siege during the Tampa Bay Super Bowl. A lot of their money was spent on the offensive line, but you wouldn't know it after tonight. Meanwhile, Mahomes had basically no weapons outside of Kelce. The front office left Mahomes high and dry in a way that Brady never suffered.

Let's hope the Super Bowl hangover hits the Chiefs hard and we get a year without them in the picture. I fully expect the Eagles to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl next year, but winning it twice in a row is easier said than done.

I never cared who won but I thought the game was boring, the half time show wasn't for me, and none of the commercials were really memorable.

BUT, I did get together with friends I have not been able to see for the last three months and that alone was worth it.

Two years ago I had to watch the Buckeyes and Eagles both lose championship games by a single kick. But here in 2025 I get to see them both hoisting up trophies.

What a time to be alive.

Go Bucks. Go Birds.

Yeah -  I hated that Super Bowl alot.    The only player I remotely like on the Eagles is Saquon and the Chiefs entire game plan was to shut him down -  which they more or less did.

The Eagles defense was ferocious -  I do have a lot of respect for Fangio,  he was the Niners D coordinator when he took us to a Super Bowl (that we could have won damnit) -  and those guys played incredible.   I haven't seen a defense make Mahomes look like that in a long, long time.     The Chiefs O-Line woes caught up to them in a big way in this game.    And it was nice to see Kelce look like a beaten puppy on the sideline.   I just wish that could have happened last year instead.

Frankly, in a lot of ways I think the Bills/Eagles game would have been a better contest because I think the Bills offense would have been able to do more against that Defense.

And the Eagles didn't used to be a team I hated.   But I loathe Nick Siriani -  I detest that man.   And I hate the way the Eagles bragged and talked shit after injuring the Niners QB in the conference championship game so I was happy when they went on to lose that Super Bowl and happy when their season cratered last year because they deserved it.

Credit to them, they kicked KC's teeth in and dominated that game.   Now they'll lose their OC to go coach the Saints and we'll see what happens from there, if they can hold it together.    Dallas is going to be shit for awhile,  the Giants are not going to be a threat anytime soon,  so the only team they'll have to hold off is Washington, but if the Commanders improve the Eagles could have a fight on their hands for that division.     We'll see how many years Saquon has left in him... He turned 28 yesterday,  NFL history suggests he has one and a half good seasons left before he falls off a cliff.

It was a fairly dull game in the sense that pretty much once KC came out anemic to start the second half it was hard to see them mount the comeback.

I think the Eagles will be in a battle with the Commanders, partly because most SB teams can't afford to keep everyone while the Commanders can fill in with Daniels on a rookie QB deal.

As a fan of both Seal the singer and Mtn Dew, I found that commercial pairing so odd to be amusing, but I like the weirder stuff. I mean they are selling soda, no need to be too serious.

After watching the game, I feel like the Eagles would've kicked the shit out of any of the AFC teams. PC is right that Buffalo's offensive line would've held up better, but I wouldn't have trusted them to stop the Eagles' offense. It's probably a more competitive game, but I could still see a 38-28-ish Eagles win. If Buffalo couldn't exploit KC's obvious weaknesses, I don't see how they would've done that much better against a superior team.

Several players on Philly's roster are going to get paid this offseason and the Eagles won't be able to keep them all. They could replenish with a good draft. It's so hard to consistently draft well, though.

I don't want to rain on Philly or their fans, I just don't like dominance in sports. As someone whose team has never won anything, I like to spread the wealth. Except to the NFC South. If the Falcons, Bucs, and Saints never won anything, it'd be fine by me.

Here's what I know.  It's really, really hard to stay on top.    Andy Reid is an all time great coach -  and that's what it takes to keep getting back to the title game.

Siriani is not an all time great coach,  he's shown he needs great coordinators -  as last year proved - so we'll see how it goes once the Eagles suffer the talent bleed that happens after a super bowl win.   With Kellen Moore out the door,  who runs the Eagles offense and will it work as well or will it drop off again like it did after Steichen left two years ago?    The good news for him is that Fangio isn't likely to go anywhere -  he's not getting another head coach offer and why give up this DC gig for a different DC gig?    But the Eagles are likely to hemorrhage talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Their pending free agents this season:   Josh Sweat,  Brandon Graham, Zack Baun and Avonte Maddox...they won't be able to afford all of those guys coming back, and while they do have some young talent on the D-line,  Sweat and Graham still did a lot of heavy lifting for that pass Rush.    Zack Baun seems like he would have to be their priority -  he was one of the best defensive players in the league this past season,  but that's going to be a big, big raise at middle line backer which means they have to get cheap elsewhere.

Additionally,  while Mekhi Becton flamed out as an O-linemen with the Jets,  he was great for the Eagles this season.  They are already paying their O-Line a bunch of money, Becton is a free agent too.  Can they afford to give him a big raise or do they let him go and hope they can train up some other big body to do what he did for them this year.

Howie Roseman is good at what he does,  but one of his free agent moves from last year - Bryce Huff,  did nothing this season - so he's going to have to have more reclamation project hits like he had with Baun and Becton on small contracts if he's going to keep the team at this level.

Good problems to have though.    And it's always better to have these problems with a Lombardi on your shelf, than to have them without one...

One week until NFL free agency opens.    Some interesting things starting to happen with trades and contract negotiations and pundits speculating it's because teams do not like the quality of the free agent market that's shaping up.

I'll say I found it interesting the Niners ditched Deebo for a fifth round pick.   It's not much, but I guess better than cutting him and better than paying him the 17.55 million in guaranteed salary -  $21.5 million in total salary for the next year.

There's a lot of speculation about what will happen with their pending free agents.   They are going to lose Charvarious Ward -  even if they could pay him, his wife won't life in the bay any more after their daughter died, so he wants to leave for her.    They are going to let Javon Hargrave walk -  he didn't bring enough for the salary to warrant coming back.    Under other circumstances I would say Dre Greenlaw would for sure go -  bigger paydays elsewhere -  but he played one game last season and it would be an enormous risk for any other team to pay him hefty free agent money,  so I think there's a chance the Niners can get him back and hopefully he can be anywhere near as good as he was.    Hufanga is an interesting case.   He was named an all pro two years ago and then missed most of this year.... hard to tell if there'll be a big market for him or not - and the safety market was so soft last year anyway, who knows.        There are a bunch of other role and bench players that are free agents too, but few big names.

My nephew is a free agent again this off-season.   ESPN's tracker has him pegged as someone likely to earn a guaranteed money contract as back-up/spot starter;   so at least they like him to stay in the league.     My brother is hoping he'll sign somewhere closer to home so we can see more games...    I would love for him to come to SF.   He played for Saleh in New York, and the coach loved him.   And if he did that I would be at as many home games as possible.     But,  as much as I'd love for him to play for my favorite (and local) team,  I want him to sign the most lucrative contract he can get where ever that might be.
