$40 a pop...I want the Spectre, but not that bad.

Yikes! $40 each now for figures in Collect to Build waves?!? That's a steep increase from the $24.99 they've been historically! These figures are the same cost each as the Batzarro/Bizarro 2-pack that went up for pre-order recently!

However like a fool I still pre-ordered the bundle for $135. The MTS10 coupon ($13.50) almost offset the shipping of $14.18. However I still have in stock orders that I placed on 12/8 and 12/11 that haven't been shipped yet, so my patience with them is fading quickly and these types of prices will only hasten that.

Interesting.  I wonder if this was meant to be the Target exclusive for the year (since it's Gold Label) and they backed out.

Build a Monitor wave.

Looks good overall.  My prediction for 2024 is that it will be the year of the reuse.  We've had it good until now with mostly all new sculpts, but I think it's catching up to Todd.  I guess our best hope is to pray the reuse that IS being used is actually appropriate for the character.  If Todd can do that, I'm fine.  Now how about getting some teen bucks?  Adult sized Kid Flash has the same issue as adult sized Impulse and Tim Drake Robin.

EDIT:  I made my post before seeing the price per figure.  Is that a typo?  If not my post is moot, it won't matter if Todd does reuse or all-new.  Honestly, I was thinking of cutting way, wayyyyyyyyy down on Multiverse for 2024 regardless.  This will bring it to a complete stop.

Love almost everything about those figures except the price. I saw them on Instagram and thought…”what a treat”. The character selection is great and the figures look good. Superman’s face is meh, but that new body sculpt should fit nicely with the other classics. I’d love to grab a second Superman figure and swap the head to have a true classic Supes as well.

But man….$40 each. That’s insane. I just got 4 figures and a BAF with way more new sculpt than this for $88 total from Target. This adds up to $160 shipped with with the 10% coupon. Not sure I can stomach that. $30 for the collector editions isn’t great…but man…$40….

Copy/pasted press release on toynewi seems to indicate that the price is correct and that these are an MTS exclusive.  I wonder if it's a combination of Target cancelling (which probably screwed up some logistics costs) and them realizing everyone knows about his 10% off code so they just started with a higher price point.  The Kohl's business model in action.

Yeah I agree with the Target theory, but I nearly shit myself when I saw Spectre and Psycho-Pirate so instantly ordered!  Will easily sell Supes and Kid Flash and maybe Monitor, we'll see.

I understand the price increase sucks but I also get it; these are limited, webstore exclusives AND a BAF wave.  As long as it doesn't become a standard and the waves have selection like this one, I can stomach it here and there.

Wow.... that Monitor figure is one I actually want - so of course it's the BAF in a wave that Todd's trying to sell for $40 each?!?!

Remember just a year or so ago when he was bragging about how he was able to keep his figures cheaper than his competition and maintain lower price points and what not?    $40 per figure now?   Really?

If this were a retail wave available at $25 each I would buy the whole set and try to sell at least Superman and Kid Flash and maybe Psycho Pirate too after building the BAF.     But at $40 each there is no chance of that.   

damn that's a awesome wave but my god that price!! .... the target theory is possible and since todd has to sell it through his store and being gold label; he thought is was a good idea to jack the price??? no thanks....

i'm going to wait it out and see if these get a price drop later on maybe for the holiday's then i'll buy them.

That’s a definite pass for me at that price. Drawing the line at 24.99 at most with Mac this year. I can’t justify the increase on these no matter the reason. Heck I still can’t justify the reason for the collectors ed at $30.

Kid Flash has baby hands.  also, Spectre has no neck.  not posting here just to hate on things, but pointing them out in case others are bothered by them.  The wired cape is cool, I'd dig getting more superheros with wired capes.

Is that Superman on a new body or is it the Blue Beetle/Booster Gold Body? Jesus Christ, the price for these!

That about sums it up.  I feel like I should be ranting, but I don't know what else there is to say.  

I find myself thinking less about this wave and more about potential stuff that I WOULD want from Todd and wondering, "Would I pay this"?  Thankfully the list is short.  Like "I-Only-Want-Batman-Forever-Figures" short.  Besides that, I think I'm going to quietly walk way. 

A $15 hike.......

Was posting something similar to the above, but it’s said in better words than I wrote. Just give me a wave of the Batman Forever main 4 with a Batman & Robin Bane as the BAF…and we’re out!

I actually really like the figures but at that price point, and with many others going up, it’s honestly getting more cost effective to fill in my DCUC gaps. I’m still thrilled to get Anti Monitor, Lobo, and a few others that will fit into my 6” scale collection.
