Classic Superman

I'd have to see him in person, but I think this one gets an "almost/not quite".

Looks more like a LOSH Superboy to me from this angle.

I just received Midnighter yesterday, though I haven't opened it yet. Are there plans to do any other Wildstorm characters? I'd love to get an Apollo to go with him, and a Zealot to go with Grifter. Besides them, I'd prioritize Spartan, Voodoo, Maul, Engineer, Hawksmoor, maybe Fairchild. Though I'd loooove to get complete WildCATs and Authority.

Dont forget Mr Majestic! And maybe Helspont?

I really hope the company releases more Wildstorm characters, but the gap between releases makes me hesitant to even get excited about the possibility.

Also how do you like the figure? The incorrectly colored pants bother me, and also I feel like the head doesn’t look sinister enough for Midnighter. Actually the old Batman head that originally came on that body looks more like Midnighter to me. They could have just chopped the ears off. Im going to buy Midnighter regardless, but this is a rare occasion that I kind of hope another version comes out that is better painted and has a new head.

Final point- why does it say on the card that his name is “unknown”? It’s Lucas Trent. It’s been Lucas Trent for a while, at least since the Midnighter series from around 2007-ish iirc. It sort of shows how little interest the company has in WS characters if they cant get basic (Google searchable) facts like the name right.

@yojoebro82 I think all the Superman figs will intentionally be “not quite” (at least to some people), but this checks the boxes for me. The page punchers body is the best of the popular standard Superman bodies in my opinion, and I actually prefer the slightly smaller scale figures like Knightfall Batman to the oversized ones like Hush Batman. This has the brighter colors I wanted and yet doesnt look as pale as the Hush Superman.

Also at least the left hand is new, from what I can tell. Maybe this new figure wont have the original page punchers giant mitts?

Honestly at this point the best thing McF could do for Superman would be to ensure the hands and heads for Superman figures have the same or comparable skin tones to incentivize mixing and matching among Superman figures. I would be much more likely to buy that platinum Superman with the mullet if I knew that head would match the neck of this newly announced figure.

@kryptonian Thanks for that.

To me that cape looks like it really only looks good while Supes is floating, not even flying.  Guess I'll give points to AC1000 for the cape.

Been a while since I’ve kept up with Wildstorm, so I wasn’t aware of Midnighter’s real name. I too am bothered by the colors on him, but I also didn’t love Grifter’s short jacket. I’ll take what I can get.

I’d certainly take Mr. Majestic. I also imagine this company could do a killer job with Ladytron. Bring them on!

Don't know if anyone watched uncle Todd's town hall yesterday. Quite insightful views on the business, keeping prices low/accessible, on why they do NFTs, on collecting (rarity factor), Comic Darkseid announcement imminent & we're most likely getting all the Batmobiles!

I'll be happy when we finally get the Batman Beyond Batmobile.

Just realized uncle Todd is doing a pretty good job of potentially fulfilling my DC Wishlist originally posted in that thread. Brainiac done. Another one coming. Christopher Reeve may be licensing issue. Comic Darkseid, BvS Ben Batman incoming. BvS/Justice League Batmobile when they eventually get to it.

1. Collector Edition Christopher Reeve Superman with cloth cape, smiling head, fists + flying hands

2. Megafig comic Darkseid

3. Brainiac

4. BvS Ben Affleck Batman original suit or Justice League suit

5. Page Punchers Green Lantern wave

6. Two-Face

7. BvS/Justice League Batmobile

I’ve been so back and forth on the idea that McFarlane puts out inaccurate figures on purpose. Sometimes I think maybe, other times I think there’s no way a company would continually risk making the customers mad. I have to say that this “classic” Superman has got me swinging the pendulum back to “on purpose”. I guess they’ve realized that they can troll and still get paid.

I’m no longer irritated about these decisions. I’m just waiting to see what element they use to troll with on the next figure. And the next…  It’s become a curiosity for me. 😀

I think Todd just expects us all to have these massive collections of every Superman/Batman in every look moreso than he makes them wrong on purpose.  Like this floating cape version for example...Todd's toy background is in statues and that's very apparent when there's a sculpt like the cape that can only be used in one particular way.  It would be great if he could figure out a way to make the cape swappable, including floating and flying capes, maybe even include fillers for the pegholes from the swappable cape for those who want to use soft goods.  At $30 I kind of expect at least some swappable parts.

Preech. Since those early day leaks, there hasn't been anything even remotely close to getting me excited as the prospect of a BBB.

For those with experience using the mcfarlane toy store website, how long does it usually take for an order to ship from when it's placed? Thanks in advance.
