I don't need the classic versions of them specifically. They've actually gotten a decent chunk of the way into the post-Infinite Crisis lineup with the recent additions of Black Lightning and Red Tornado.

Artwork] Justice League by Ed Benes. : r/DCcomicsSo if they wanted to go with a more modern look for the likes of Hawkgirl and Black Canary, I'd be pleased. Vixen as well, though I still prefer Zatanna's stage magician look.

Sad news for collectors in my country (Philippines). We just found out yesterday that there will be no local distribution for Wonder Woman as well as the other Collector Edition figures (Captain Carrot, Green Lantern Batman, and Superbulk and Krypto).

Figures won't appear in retail (Toys R Us and other local chains). All early preorders from hobby shops were cancelled. So I guess we have no choice but to find sources from the US.

Kinda sucks because I'm so close in completing the original 7. But I feel that there is no guarantee for me to get WW at this point. Also, feels bad that I can't locally get Captain Carrot anymore... been looking forward to that figure as well!

I have no idea what's going on with the Superman chase figure, but that's EXACTLY the shade of blue I was thinking should have been used for the regular version... fsoab, lol...

@jokerjester There's a non-Collector Edition of her in the works too. Not a guarantee she'll release in the Philippines, but we do already know this CE version isn't the only one coming out.

Really hope the rumored BvS Batman looks awesome... and is real.

I bet they go with the armored suit, rather than his regular suit (I'd prefer the reg suit...). Todd loves to make the "sexy" stuff, and subjectively the armored outfit is more eye catching than a regular Batman suit. I'd love to be wrong and find out they're making both versions, but...y'know lol

Is this abomination real?  It’s hilariously bad.

it’s almost as bad as Liefeld’s infamous Heroes Reborn Captain America art.

@hulkster1 That Liefeld Captain America original art just sold today at auction for $130,000 approx... go figure. It is terrible no doubt.

The consumer engineering attempts on this line are so blatant it’s frustrating. They keep releasing “almost” versions to string us on, and I’m just tired of it. We are years into this line and I think most people would agree that we haven’t got a great standard Superman figure. There’s always something that gets screwed up in the attempt. Articulation issues. Headsculpt. Fleshtone. No yellow S. Massive hands. Jay Leno face. Now it’s the roid body.

Honestly though, the new mullet Superman doesn’t look that bad, if not for the fact that it’s $10 more for a figure that was clearanced out. All the figures we want are suddenly $10 more, and it’s being played off like some value is added for the card stand and silver paint in the box. Does ANYONE here want that card stand?? The card art never even matches the figure inside.

Anyway, all of this is to say that while Animal Man looks great, I can almost guarantee that McFarlane will release a jacketed version with a somehow worse head down the line.

"Consumer Engineering"  this is a new term to me and I love it.  I assume it means manipulation??  The only defense I have for Todd is that he killed it early on but people bitched and let stuff go to clearance.  And THAT is why we get this shit now.  I can sympathize there and dislike the haters now even more than I did then.

Otherwise it's just shitty and stupid.  How many Supermans has he missed on??  HUSH looks nothing like Jim Lee outside the head, FA is a joke, this mullet one feels like it's trolling fans to be honest.  Classic Superman should be more like Knightfall Batman, not on the Page Punchers body.  If you want to retain customers, make correct shit.  There will always be new Superman figures and new ideas.  IF you want to turn fans away.....keep doing what you're doing Todd.  Dumbass.

Steel looks really good, but what's the point.  The Cyborg Superman from new 52 got delayed or cancelled.  So the beautiful, unique figure actually matching the source material gets canned, but we get all the shit that is nearly universally panned.

Honestly he just give his sculptors way too much artistic freedom. They all should be given guidelines on scale, head size, details and comic realism. However I guess he doesn't care it cost him money in the long run. The online and big box retailers will buy the product but not so many consumers so there comes the sales. McFarlane has no actual base bodies. You take the base body, then add the sculpted details. You allow the same sculptor doing the body also do the head. You want them to match obviously. It's pretty simple actually, you make 6-8 base bodies to start of different sizes then sculpt off those. You send to the sculptor the base body to use, images of the details, the guidelines to follow and a due date.  I mean eventually you give the artist some artistic freedom but not every freaking time. You are trying to make a product to the original so consumers will want to buy it as much as the retailers do. If retailers can't sell the product at the MSRP what does that actually say about your product.

Seriously, I mean come on how does a sculptor mess up Tim Drake Robin as much at the last three were. That sculptor would have been doing it all over again or not working for me again.
