This shows that not everything's right at McF. How the hell can you make those two Aquaman figures different heights? Screenshot from dhunter's review.
Saw a photo of the 3 "classic" JSA members on Instagram and had similar thoughts. Just too much scale inconsistency and comic inaccuracy.
I feel like I'm in limbo with the line in its current state. I'd love a JSA, but not going to pay a premium for inaccurate sculpt. I'd love more 90s figures, but those are seeming to be few and far between, with Tim Drake needing serious alteration. Superboy and Eradicator are modern, but Steel is classic. Dawn of DC has some nice, iconic looks but outside of Damian and Page Punchers Aqualad, we haven't seen many in figure form.
Feels like they are so close...yet so far away.
Yeah yeah, first world problems complaining about the inability to purchase more pieces of plastic.
@mysticmanjrf I hear ya. I was thinking about putting together a McFarlane classic JLA but was disappointed that Martian Manhunter was so short I passed on him. Thanks for the pick of classic Hawkman. He looks better in your photo.
@mysticmanjrf I have mixed feelings about someone else getting the Dc License, only because I’m not sure I want to get into another line especially if I don’t know if there’s gonna be long life span. I do wish that Mcfarlane would get their act together by now, we really shouldn’t be having scale issues this late in the game. My favorite Batman suit to date is the Rebirth design BUT HES WAY TOO SMALL. I’ve given up on Mcfarlane redoing a Rebirth Batman in a proper scale and I’m hoping for New 52 Batman with a brand new sculpt. I’m hoping but also not holding my breath is that the reason we’re getting so many reuse sculpts is because new ones are on the way, but only time will tell
Hell yeah, give us a line with Hourman, Mr Terrific, Robin and Johhny Thunder and make the Thunderbolt the baf and then a follow up with Spectre, Sandman, Atom and Dr Mid-Nite and Ma Hunkel as the baf.
Love those stories. Always liked the Earth 2 Robin design that was closer to Batman. The writing was different then...all of the stuff that happened with that version of Batman, Helena Wayne, etc. would have never stuck in the main universe today.
@ted-mic Thanks, I waffle on the new wings since I feel as though they need to be left in flight pose to be the proper size. But the stock wings just look off to me. Maybe there eventually be a better version from another figure.
I saw a toy hunter on YouTube find that Platinum chase Hawkman at a Target the other day. Talk about luck.
I kind of like the look of that JSA pic with the Multiverse figures. If you want the 100% comic accurate versions, Mattel already did like 80% of the classic JSA in figure form.
I personally like getting something that's a little different and not just a carbon copy of what DCUC already did in a different scale. But finding that red and green Hawkman will not be easy.
Was hopeful the next Joker Todd released would be the quintessential "must have" version. So far I only have the Comedian / Killing Joke one because the faces of the others always seems off. Can't say I have to run out and get this one either. Now the suit seems off along with the gloves and I'm not in love with the hair. The face seems like a step in the right direction, but too much like a videogame version of the Joker for some reason. Oh well, I guess I'll wait.
I am really pulling back on my purchases from the McF Multiverse. Only Batfamily and Classic for me from now on, having fun off loading a lot of past purchases and freeing up space. When McF gets it right these are great-Knightfall Batman is fantastic, Alan Scott is a great figure minus the lapse in concentration ref. his ring hand. I wish that McF had given due diligence to the first appearance Superman-Wanted to love that figure so much, but the corners cut were more than disappointing.

Best face so far is the Mortal Kombat Joker. Maybe the MK head on this one plus shoe swap for an ultimate Joker.
Any word on a New 52 Batman???!
Yeah it's been leaked for some time but they don't reveal anything until like right before it ships which I find annoying as hell. Haven't seen the Superman Page Punchers either.
And TheRealSmallville I sold a chunk of my McFarlane stuff on ebay after hating the Batman/Spawn 2 pack. I did order the 2 figure Spawn wave from his store and got them last week, but otherwise stuck to my guns and don't buy the line anymore.
I'm actually happy with other lines and used my sales to fund The Ghost. McFarlane was on a roll in 2021 and it just hasn't been it since. Now I think it's just bad. No offense to anyone, but I think the figures look worse, not appealing to me at all. Proportions still an issue along with over texturing everything. Reuse in and of itself makes sense, but there is NO plan. You can't make all these unique sculpts with insane detail then think it works for other characters. Make new smooth bodies if this is what you want now. Can't have both.
I expect King Spawn to be another reissue that's an easy pass. Superman Page Punchers I still think will be cool, but probably too late to care for me.
I'm glad to see it's not just me...to your point about smooth bodies, that actually articulates it better than I did - I am completely cool with reuse, but they keep reusing parts that are textured are inaccurate due to previous molds and mixing them with things that aren't textured (like Midnighter's arms). I wasn't quite sure what my issue with the current reuse was, but seeing your post made it clear - it's the mismatched textures. I really don't like the naked bucks that get painted in the Marvel Legends line, but at least they aren't kitbashing figures together and selling them for full price.
I was all aboard the McFarlane train until Springtime this year, but I haven't been happy with them in a while now. Whenever my kids start going through their things (toys, clothes, shoes) and deciding whether to keep them, donate them, or sell them, sometimes they come to me or their Mom and they'll ask for our opinion. Mine is always the same: "does it bring you joy? If not, get rid of it." The early McFarlane stuff brought me a lot of "joy", I was all-in. I have boxes of stuff sitting around waiting to be opened, and I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm in a weird place as a collector, I've been getting more and more into 1/6 stuff lately.

@ditko said he's used ebay for offloading his figures, is that where you offload yours as well? Taking a peek around ebay, it doesn't look like most of this stuff goes for much, and it always seemed to me like it wasn't worth the time and effort of packing things and taking them to a shipment center for such a small return (especially after shipping costs). I suppose if you're selling a lot of product, it makes it easier 🤔
I'm in a weird spot where I'd love to downsize, but I don't want to just give things away because I sunk so much cash into them...I also know that nobody is getting rich off of selling figures, and I never expected to get anything close to the original cost back, but still lol Maybe it's easier to swallow when you see the space it frees up lol
Facebook Marketplace and sell stuff in lots. You'll get both the local fans like yourself, as well as people who buy stuff in bulk to try to pass off for more. Plus you'll be getting rid of stuff en masse, people wont be picking through deciding they don't want certain things so you're stuck with them, and there's essentially no cost to you when Facebook asks and you didn't complete a transaction.
Saw this on facebook, not sure how reliable this info is but hey, I'll post it anyway. Nightwing is on the BB body. And besides that there's even more reuse coming. This shit is starting to hurt.
