I know absolutely nothing about this character but it looks accurate to what I've found on Google. I'm assuming it's not the classic look some were waiting for. It reuses Batrocitus in a nice way, though, if only they gave him new shoulders and biceps as well.

So weird. This is end of Convergence Waverider, rather than the look he uses in the comics all the time. And isn't that body larger size? Waverider shouldn't be huge. Some real confusing choices here...

Future State Batman reuse. Dunno why upper and lower sleeve texturing doesn't match if both pieces appear to be newly sculpted.

nice reveals, not bad reuse of previous molds.
Batrocitus is actually normal size, he’s just beefy

I think the lower arms are Last Knight on Earth Batman. It's a kitbash.

It's funny, I was just popping into the thread because I saw Midnighter on IG and thought he might draw me back into this line after months of disinterest (I'd preorder all the Authority in a heartbeat) but I missed the whole Hawkman chase thing. I have to say, I fell in love with the line when I got my first few Batman figures, but I feel like just never quite hits what I need as a collector now. I keep almost buying figures that aren't the version I want (I've had Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Raven and a few others in my Amazon cart off and on for months but they're not the look I want, but as the only option I was kind tempted if they would ever go on sale, even just a five dollar discount). I'm still a little miffed about the weird side-eye thing since it impacted some of my favorite figures otherwise (Ollie, Arthur, both in costumes I wanted them in most). Had to overpay to find a non-movie Supergirl but that's the only figure I've bought for a while now.

I have a TON of early figures from this line but the aversion to classic costumes and the ones I want getting harder and harder to find is kind of dulling the line for me. Oddly enough, I've actually been regularly picking up his Super Powers figures because they ARE hitting those classic looks, even though I very much prefer the larger/more articulate figures.

Hopefully they make an Apollo to go with Midnighter.

I was just thinking the other day, Isn't there supposed to be a Waverider figure that we heard about - and here it is. Midnighter and Waverider look good, but I think I'll pass on both. Not the version of Waverider I was expecting and it's about 90% close to what it's supposed to look like. I'm not that familiar with Wildstorm characters, so I don't need Midnighter. I did get Grifter for some reason. I might get rid of him, but he has the makings of an Adam Cray Atom.

I'm ok with reuse when it works, but using Batrocitus for Waverider doesn't work. Why is McFarlane kitbashing his own figures? That's what the consumer does. Also, there seems to be more Gold Label figures this year than before. He must have some deal with Target & Walmart to make more for them. Also, I am not a fan of any of the Platinum versions shown recently.

I recently decided to part with a number of McFarlane figures, but I kept the modern Bat Family. Midnighter should make a nice addition, but honestly I can't make judgements on McFarlane figures anymore until I see the full photos. Going to hope it looks good but Dark Detective was smart reuse.

As for Waverider...I'm over getting figures that don't fit into the larger display. Other than one missing orange stripe on the biceps, it appears to be pretty comic accurate but I'm just not going to purchase a figure that has nobody to go with him. Classic Waverider would have looked nice next to the 90s era figures.

Also...is that the Rock's face? Or am I seeing things?

Could be a nice replacement head for Dark Detective Batman. (That's the one where the ears stick out).

I don't have any interest in Midnighter or Wave Rider, but I like the price point and the amount of accessories that are included.  Less "Collectors' Edition" and more if this, please, Todd.

This version of Waverider and Midnighter are passes for me.  I've never read anything with that version of Waverider and that's just so much light gray on Midnighter it doesn't feel like him.  Hopefully McFarlane can right the ship and start making comic figures that aren't repaints again.

Yeah...  I like the cut of that Waverider's jib...  I'll be tracking that one down for sure.   I actually don't  mind the looks of this version.   Even though it looks nothing like the classic version I'm used to.    Always thought it was a bummer DCUC didn't get around to adding Waverider to the New Gods line up.

Good to know. Still too beefy for Waverider, though. What an odd choice when Captain Atom was right there...

Ended up passing on Midnighter after seeing the full photos. He's way too bright. Don't really understand the color scheme as he's never been shown in that bright of a suit. Still, I agree with @yojoebro82 that the value in these is much better than the $30 collector figures. Smart re-use is always a good thing IMO.

I also just finished swapping the wings from the Sky Tyrant BWL onto Hawkman. Going in detail about the swap below, please forgive my inability to find the spoiler thing and shrink the message. Pics at the bottom for those who don't care about the details.

This was one of, if not the most difficult swap I've ever done on a figure. The pegs for the wings on BWL and Hawkman are totally different. Both ends of each connector is unique. First, I tried to remove the pegs from Hawkman's wings and fit them into BWL wings, but this was not possible due to the size difference. Also, Hawkman's wings are not the normal plastic. They are made of a very hard, rigid plastic that didn't soften even with near-boiling water. Removing the pegs was almost impossible and I definitely slightly warped the wing, although that's not really visible when connected.

I settled on splitting the pegs in half, and using the side that inserts into Hawkman's back, and combining it with the BWL side of the peg that goes into the wings. No dice, both ends of those pegs had the female connection point. No male connector to properly fit the peg together.

So I tried a number of different ankle/wrist pegs from older McFarlane figures. No dice on Arkham Batman, Flashpoint Batman, Nightwing, Red Son Superman. Finally, the ankles from a Rebirth Bizzaro had the other half that fit well enough into BWL wings, but connected to the Hawkman peg properly.

The end result? IMO, they look much better than the original wings, especially in-flight, but they are a bit too small. Like the normal wings, the new ones make the back of the figure a bit weighted but they are lighter than the stock wings so he's easier to stand. Tough to get a good neutral pose. But worth the calluses and carpal tunnel pain this one caused.
