What did you say? I can't READ YOU!
JK - that sucks, Ninjak. Some websites have instituted ad shit like that and I just have to refresh the page to make it go away - or just stop reading that site. It's amazing to me that with all of our technological advances, we can't get stuff like that to work - or to not see the same three ads over and over and over on streaming shows.
ANYWAY - bummer if no follow-up Batman & Robin figures is true. I don't want the ice suits, but I do want another Ivy and Bane. Maybe the two-pack I keep manifesting into existence! 🙂 At this point, Bane and Nicholson Joker will be the only ones not on the shelf.
Also, no sympathy for those who passed on B&R the first time - it was pretty clear that those figures were starting something. Also, they're good figures on their own - I wish Freeze had gotten his own trading card included with one of the figures so all five original posters were represented. So if people skipped that's on them. It's like people who didn't buy the first Jim Lee Rogue - "how was I supposed to know they'd make the rest of the team?!" Ummmm... use your brain?
Having seen how The Question figure from McFarlane looks, it's kinda made me want a Dick Tracy line based on the movies, as a couple of the characters have varying outfits in the film (mostly single colored jack / jacket removed, hat / hat removed). But as the Mezco's are based off the comics, I feel like it'd be niche enough for Todd to flourish. Plus he's already made a tommy gun pack-in.
Movie Tracy figures would be hard to pass up on, especially at a lower price point, but I've been loving the Mezco offerings. Now that my Blank is finally shipping, I'll have all four. I love the movie, but the comic has been sorely ignored in figure form, and these are really the only good Tracy figures ever made. I think Super 7 might be a better fit for Tracy products, though. Plus, we'd get a ton of accessories.
Speaking of the Schumacher films... am I the only one who would've bought a Chase Meridian??
With the new Synderverse Alfred, hopefully Todd revisits the other films too outside of their dedicated waves.

I can respect what Mezco is doing, and they're clearly a love letter to the comics, which I used to read in collected format. However, my issue with Super 7 is that the line may be abandoned before I get everyone I want, which would have to be at least the old Playmates roster PLUS some of the characters that were never made, like the Mayor, Chief Brandon, Tess Trueheart etc. I feel like Playmates specializes in weird looking mutant characters, so the bizarre looking Tracy villains came across rather well in figure format for the 90s. Neca, McFarlane, Nacelle, Super7 I think could all do the IP justice, but for me Mezco's high price point and focus on the comics keeps me at arms length at the moment. Super7 also tends to focus on that $50+ price point and above, and I feel like while we'd likely get less with the other 3 aforementioned companies, at least they'd be affordable given the tariff instability going on presently. Of course this would obviously mean they come with less too most likely. Definitely want the weirder accessories like Lips Manlis' cement shoes (an assemble-able crate for his "bath" would be great too) and Itchy with his dynamite plunger. They should definitiely include the polar bear shaped tape recording unit with Mumbles, so maybe Super7 would be the one to do it, but as I said I'd be more worried about completion. I'd want some of the unmade gangsters like LittleFace's crew's Stooge Villar, and Jame's Cahn's mobster that gets blown up when Tracy is on the window ledge outside of Big Boy's meeting.
Just seeing The Question from McFarlane made me think both Tracy and The Blank though, and for $25-$30 bucks I could live with those for movie-level detail.
I stopped at the Target near work and it looked like they had filled the pegs with McFarlane figures. In the toy aisle there was a Red Platinum Nightmaster along with Superman, Tempest & Dark Flash. There were also 2 Red Platinum Batman Begins Scarecrow figures along with the Batman 89 & Batman Begins Batman. Also, a bunch of Wildcat & Commander Steel figures. I already found Nightmaster & Scarecrow, so I passed.
In the Collectors section there were regular & platinum Adam Strange & Deadshot figures but no Batman Year 2 figures. I picked up the regular versions but I wasn't interested in the platinum versions. They also had 2 Digital Superman figures, a regular & platinum Digital Dr. Fate figures but no Two-Face figures. I picked up the regular Dr. Fate but I didn't care for the gold & dark blue version.
I can't believe there were 6 platinum figures in one store at the same time.
Got an order in at MTS for Superman w/Krypto and Metamorpho. The Kaiju look cool, but I passed for now.
HEADS UP, in case you look at the pictures too quickly like I did - there are 2 versions of Superman, the "Theatrical Edition" with Krypto AND a soft goods cape, and a regular edition with a plastic cape and no Krypto. At first glance, I almost missed that only one of them has soft goods, if that is your thing (it used to bug me, but is now my favorite). Little early day PSA for y'all.
So... BBTS also has listed from the movie the Metamorpho figure and the oversized Kaiju monster. The Kaiju looks a bit derpy... plus, as McFarlane is wont to do with these big monsters lately - it has no lower half articulation at all and minimal articulation in the upper half either really - waist cut, two shoulder cuts, neck cut and that's it. It's just a big brick of a thing
I do kind of like the look of that Luthor though. I like the expression on the face. They did a nice job with that.
I went to ahead and just ordered a standard Superman. A soft goods cape would've been cool, but I see McFarlane made that exclusive to the theatrical version.
The Super Powers figures look nice as well, and what a NEAT idea with the Fortress of Solitude playset!
@therealsmallville Thanks for the assist on the rewards for MTS. The page was down last week and I couldn't view my points, so I emailed customer service and they said they were working on the site and it should be back up. I finally got around to it today and entered all of the codes from the cards I had piled up.
I noticed the cards that come with the digital figures have a scratch off as well, but I assume this is for the online digital collection. I have another pile of cards with Red Robin on them that are for the online digital collection. I think there is an app to download for these codes.
Ordered Super Powers and Multiverse versions of Metamoprho (surprise, surprise coming from a guy with the handle Rex Mason) from BBTS, but hoping to spot them in stores before the order goes through. Curious about what the vinyl figure is, too. Wonder if we'll see that today?
Hope a Metamorpho Hot Toy isn't out of the realm of possibilities, either. I don't mind the shorts look, as it's really close to his 2000s look, so I'm all on in on Meta-merch...
I pre-ordered Metamorpho. With so little time left on the license for McFarlane it's not likely that they'll make another version of Rex. It would have been nice if the shorts were soft goods and removable so you could make him more of a comic version if you want. But even with the sculpted shorts he's close enough to his comic look to work. At least for me.
Wow this is really cool

So: skipping Superman because I'm not a fan of the suit, basically the same feelings I had in regards to Battinson. I get what they're going for but just don't like it. Skipping the Kaiju. Might pick up Lex and Metamorpho, need to see them in action in the movie first. Will most definitely preorder Mr. Terrific. Will consider getting robot no. 4.
