I entered for Mr. Terriffic. Making the normal version the platinum was uncool.
Page Punchers Damian Robin is a fantastic looking figure. It's been one of my favorites of 2024.
I will say, if you come across the Wal-Mart Gold Label Superman, it is worth picking up. I'm sure it's fine to skip too, as I know Todd will be making more Superman figures. But the Wal-Mart Gold Label figure has the cloth cape, very vibrant colors, and is just a great, classic looking Superman figure.
Thanks! Yes, I'm sure he will make another one. Like you said though, it's a great looking classic Superman.
I'm now trying to track down the Collector Edition Superman just for Krypto. The Superman included there is....not good.
I also got Page Punchers Robin — it shipped out of nowhere after not having an arrival date for months — and I have to say it’s one of my top five DC Multiverse figures of the year. I’ve actually never read the comic run it’s from but am planning to now after getting the first issue with the figure.
It looks to me that the platinum blue Batman that goes along with this Robin is the correct coloring. So weird the standard issue is the wrong color.
While I agree that the blue Batman is correct, I just like the standard black better. Hoping it's not a pain to get for those that prefer blue.
Just a couple hours of entering the EQL for Platinum Simon, I found him at Gamestop. I still haven't seen the normal version in the wild yet. It's crazy to have found the Platinum version first. The one I found has some green pain from the costume on his lower arm though, so it doesn't look great, honestly. I bought it anyway.
My Target had 3 Plats today: Effigy, Armored E2 Superman and the FA Batman. I bought Effigy and left the others for someone else. They also had a couple of Commander Steel marked on clearance for 30% off. I already have it so left those for others also. Still haven't seen either version of Geo-Force and I'd like both versions.
Still nothing at my Walmart. I walked up and down the whole toys and electronics sections making sure that I wasn't missing a hiding spot, but nothing. Still really want Platinum Lightning Lad. Plenty of the Gold Label Superman and Green Lantern Hal Jordan, though along with PP Constantine, PP Caveman Batman and modern Red Hood.
I entered the drawing for the Platinum Reeve Superman. Platinums have been fairly common to come by in my neck of the woods, except for the Collectors Edition ones...come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever seen a Collector Edition figure in person that I didn't order online. I'm sure there had to be one at some point, but I can't think of it.
I stopped at a few Walmarts in my area today. One of the Walmarts had the Batman with Ace figure. I always look at the top shelves and I found the platinum version up there.
It's so strange, I have seen the Simon Baz figure at Walmart & the Mr. Terrific figure at Gamestop, but I have not seen the platinum versions. I have only seen the platinum version of Grid but not the regular version. I might as well enter the EQL drawings for Baz, Terrific & Superman.
I stopped at Best Buy on my way to work today. They had a few different McFarlane figures, but they had 8 Huntress figures. They could have been sent there, but my guess is that someone bought a bunch hoping to get the platinum & then returned the rest. They look so odd when half of the faceplates have fallen off.
@tenzilkem It's gotta look terrible on McF when all these stores are tracking heavily-returned items and they're probably out in front on the action figure market.
I just received the Silver Age Batman with his doggy from Best Buy, thankfully I didn't get the Platinum. He's neat but I think I prefer the Hush buck. The cape is the real drawback; I don't mind the shiny Barbie color but it's so long and narrow that it's hard to pose. It also starts far back on his shoulders with a stiff metal wire. As a fan of soft goods, I can empathize with those who dislike wired capes. I still enjoy posing it over a static rubber one but I can't really say it looks better.
New leaked listings over on TNI, including 2 female figures- Sensational Wonder Woman (Golden Age) and Stephanie Brown Batgirl.
I collect Batman only, so looking forward to Troika and NML Bats, though of course they’ll both be repaints.
Let’s see, I think I will get:
Batman (NML)
Batgirl (Steph)
Superboy
Nightwing
Not really interested in Sensation Comics WW. I would love to get a Superfriends version though.
I’ll be interested to see if they actually do Troika right, with the seamless boots/gloves with the proper spines on each. That costume was incredibly short-lived but I’d love to see it captured accurately. I remember being a bit bummed when it was immediately elided into “movie costume with less details” as popularized in the Morrison JLA, although that was a good look too.
I'm only interested in Monarch, Steve Trevor and Stephanie Brown from this list and would strongly prefer Stephanie as Spoiler. Sick of all the chase crap.
Target has the Batman forever wave down to $12.49 if anyone is interested.
Damn. I will probably get most of those on the new leaked list. Some good stuff there. Especially as a Bat-Fan.
I missed the Digital Hal Jordan Green Lantern when it was out. And I haven't felt like paying the $60 for it on Ebay. But last night I was on BBTS, and they actually got one back in stock. I ordered it immediately. I'm happy to get it for retail cost.
Anyone removed Sgt Rock's vest? I assume a torso is sculpted under there?
