@yojoebro82 Yeah, not even half as bad as Wildcat. I'm liking Orion, Wildcat, not at all.
I received a huge haul of McFarlane's DC today. I received the Batman vs Superman case of six from EE. I can also confirm in the case is the Platinum of Superman as the statue and Armored Batman with glow in the dark kryptonite dust on the upper right side of the chest and shoulder of his armor. What I received from McFarlanewas the Batman Beyond Batman and Batmobile, the Platinum Deathstoke and Damian Robin, Batman and Robin Batmobile and the pixelated Justice League Task Force figures with BAF Darkseid. The figures do look much better in hand. I'm not hating on Superman as much as I first did when I saw reviews. The last two products I received were the Rann Swamp Thing and Batman Detective Comics #587.
I just got the newest PP Damian Robin myself and, holy crap, it somehow feels so premium. All new sculpt (no, it reuses arms and legs from the gray Damian) with so many paint hits and a decent new accessory in the Pyg mask. Plus the headsculpt is just so on point. I mean, wow, it's like we're back to the good old days of Todd's DCM.
Just saw a video of the Kong and Bats pack. Kong doesnt have no articulation? i think just head and waist articulation, horrible.
kong has head, arms, wrist and waist poa no leg movement... very disappointed.
i was hoping for a super articulated kong and godzilla but looks like we'll be getting old school roto-figures... lame
BY just adding 3 more joints, i would have bought the Kong. what a missed opportunity for him, oh well. he is out of touch with collectors.
It's a fun idea, but I agree- making a figure of a monkey, be it ape, gorilla, chimp, orangutan, etc. without any leg articulation feels.....wrong? Monkeys are kinda known for using their feet for many a thing.
The RunFair EQL entries are open for the Platinums of Flash Batman (blue & grey), Speed Force Flash and Lightning Lad.

I need that Lightning Lad! I bought 2 of the regular version in case I couldn't get the Platinum but really want the Platinum version!
I've passed on that Batman multiple times but bought and already sold the Speed Force Flash.

Been trying to get hold of this guy- had him on pre-order, was cancelled, managed to order one but got lumped with nonsensical platinum edition that no one seems to want that I then had to ebay to just get my money back (seller was not going to pay for me to return a figure that looked nothing like the one they had listed). Tried ordering from China, and three different sellers each failed to even try to send anything.
Does Todd do stuff like this just to annoy people? He finally makes a really good Robin figure, but then chooses to make in low quantities, and then floods the sets with variants for a comic based character that look nothing like him in the comics. I mean when you've produced something like this, and compare it with half the rubbish that gets sent to retail, if you cannot realise this was going to be desired then making good figures is just pure luck at this point. I honestly give up on this line.
McFarlane logic: make GL figure for army building. Make variant with 2 extra character portraits 1 in 6.
Make Robin figure specific to a comic run. Make random variant with colors never seen in anything 1 in 2.
Today I got the Batman and Robin Batmobile, which is the last item I’ll be buying from McFarlane for a while. Of all the Batmobiles it definitely seems like the most money for the least plastic, and it’s a bit small. Putting Clooney in it looks like putting an adult in a child sized convertible. I’m still enough of a shill that I’m happy to have this for the display. Will be setting up some shelves to display all the movie Batmobiles plus Beyond.
@dave-o I can't buckle down and commit to this line for those reasons. It's 2024, I'm not hunting for toys anymore. I'll check if I'm there, but 95%+ of my purchases are online. Walmart is disgusting, it's below freezing, gas is expensive, I'm not going to spend time and money to check their toy section multiple times a week just so I can buy a toy for full price. I'm not going to order anything online unless I'm okay being sent whatever it could be. $23-$30 blind box toys.
This would never fly with anything else at the store. Buy a white towel for your bathroom, and Amazon sends you blue one, and they will apologize and take care of you. But an adult buying a toy, well, now it's not a toy it's a collectible, and it's your fault. Amazon is going to charge you for the return because Todd wanted to include "artist proof" versions and you got an all-grey Joker figure. Hey, it says style may vary, so tough luck!

Well said.
I get that McFarlane is nostalgic for late 90s/early 00s toy collecting, but that’s not the experience most collectors want today.

At some point in time when all of the Batman versions run out, some other company will do a 6" Clooney Batman and he should fit in just fine. Except your only outlet for 6" DC is Mezco or imports, so it will be $100 for that Clooney Batman.

It's all ego. He thinks it's cool so collector's are stuck with this ridiculous model. I had missed out on this Robin. My amazon order got changed from a definite due date to a "you'll get it when you get it" date. I happened by one on BBTS by chance, someone dropped it from their POL. It's a good figure....the kind Todd wants to make purposefully hard to get.
first look at the platinum evil superman
