@gpmartin414 I'm in NYC too. I'm never quite sure if there's more collectors here, and thus more people to snag things before I get to them, or less, and stores just don't order as much because people are too concerned with other bills to buy figures. There's no comparing Targets here to Targets elsewhere in the country- every time I visit my family in Kansas, it's a night and day difference. Shelves are stocked, especially in the "collector's section" by electronics, whereas here, it's slim pickings (if any at all). Toy sections are tiny, and half the time, it's behind glass. There's only 1 WalMart even remotely close to me, but since I don't drive here, it's a long, daunting process to get to, and not in the best part of town. I feel so silly hyping up WalMart every time I go back home, but it really has become a treat. I almost always find the things I'm looking for with little or no hassle when I venture outside NYC.
Anywho, if you're ever on the lookout for something, let me know! I can keep an eye out for ya.
I snagged Antimonitor for less than $9 on Amazon earlier today with a limited time deal.
I got Lobo, his Dog, and Space Cycle for like $40 instead of $70 on Amazon today. Some good deals right now on there.
Found the BvS Armored Batman Platinum & False God the other day. Entire wave was on a red cart. At 1st, only saw the Batman/Spawn 1996 plat on the rack. Few aisles later immediately grabbed the Armored Batman off the cart. Asked the lady if I could buy it. She scanned it, told me it was on sale. She then abruptly pushed the cart away. I found her again a bit later & she seemed weirdly stingy about selling me the False God & Wonder Woman. Seems the shelf & rack were fully loaded so she was taking the rest back. I already got the big bundle from the McF Store 10/31.
Today, found another Cyborg Superman plat & finally the digital Flash plat at Gamestop.
Snyder Darkseid has shipped from Walmart.

The "city" Targets in NYC aren't even worth checking for figures in my opinion. Some of the ones that are further out are okay, but still not great. I do go to the one in College Point to grocery shop at it's okay, but nothing compared to like when I visit family where I'm from in Michigan. There's a Target there I go in an upscale area and it's like night and day as compared to NYC. They have full shelves, it's easy to find store exclusives, and for McFarlane figures in particular, there's usually even a platinum figure or two!
For NYC, the only places I've had success are either comic shops like Forbidden Planet by Union Square or random hole-in-the-wall-type places. There's one in Astoria that has a crazy selection of ML figures from the last decade to now. They even sell HasLabs from time to time. You would never expect it seeing the outside of the place.
thank you toy gods!!!
finally found the question at target this morning and got him for $16 from the sale.
i'm glad i can rest a bit till the next platinum chase.
also does anybody else notice walmart are carrying older multiverse figures? three of my store have the new wave but also see the b/g hush batman, jim batman, and jay flash. i also seen knightfall catwoman and oddly enough dread lantern too.
@new-batman My Walmart had 8 Page Punchers Superman with the gigantic fists along with Injustice Superman. McF has been unloading old stock to Walmarts. Never found the Gold Label Superman around here. Had to get him somewhere else.
Denver Walmarts have stocked up on solid cases of figures from the Flash Page Punchers wave as well as the Jay Garrick wave. Targets are getting Booster/Ambush Bug. McFarlane must have dumped a bunch of old product on retailers for the holidays.
Yes, I've seen solid cases of Flash PP John Constantine and PP Caveman Batman put out at my Walmart all of a sudden. I believe that they also just opened and stocked another case of the Atrocitus CTB wave. My Target just put out the Plastic Man CTB wave for the first time. It also appears that they got a solid case of the Collector Edition Hawkman (but no Platinum in sight). Still a lot of the Page Puncher wave with E2 Superman and Ghost of Zod there also.
I went to my local Walmart today and they had boxes of page puncher figures on the shelves. Mainly John Constantine, Injustice Supergirl & Injustice Dr. Fate. They still have the current Superman wave with Zod & Brainiac.
I stopped at Gamestop and they had the Justice League Task Force Batman figure. It looks good if you want it to look a figure of a video game character. It would look really great if it wasn't pixelated or had the video game cell shading.
I got Sgt. Rock & the 2 pack Joker & Punchline from Amazon today. I'm glad I got the regular Rock instead of the platinum. I also got my BVS figures from Gamestop today as well.
So the platinum for silver age Batman is Zur En Arrh. Kind of glad, one less variant to track down.
@bat1975 Yep, but the platinum for Shazam! is Captain Thunder and I've got to have that one. Sigh.
I remember when I used to be happy about a figure being made that I wanted, but when it comes to McFarlane Platinums I know that generally the only way that I'm going to get it is to pay twice retail on the secondary market. I've never wanted a line that I collect to change hands so badly. DC is my 2nd favorite IP to only Marvel and McFarlane drives me nuts. I hate that I give them so much of my money when I don't even like their scale or proportions, but that's on me for continuing to buy from them just because I love the property.
@stephenwdavis I know, platinums are super annoying. Not sure where you live, but would also recommend checking out CMD store. They end up getting most of the platinums (and store exclusives) at relatively reasonable prices.
