A single Batman '89? Most likely a rehash of the poorly designed Batmobile version. But... What does this mean for the rumored Batman Returns and (logically) 89 wave? Seems to be breaking a pattern

McFarlane showed off the 2 pack of Thomas Wayne and Reverse Flash on Instagram. Having trouble posting the pics but the Thomas Wayne has heads for both masked and unmasked. Masked has gritting teeth (not the same as the single pack). Reverse Flash is re-use from Flashpoint Barry - hard to tell if the head is a straight repaint as well or if it’s new.

Thawne looks….off. Easy pass for me.

I agree that the head/face sculpt for RF is off, but I need a masked Flashpoint Thomas so I'll be buying this regardless.

Crazy story time.

I was at Walmart today and picked up the new Gold Label Hal Jordan Green Lantern (because I like shiny things). They had 3 of them in stock, and as I was looking them over this little old guy came up and was staring at me. I decided to get 2 of the GL's and I put one back on the pegs, when suddenly the little guy starts yelling at me. He's like "Those are bootlegs, you know?!" And I was like "Oooookay." But he kept ranting on how those are going for $40 on eBay, then he started accusing me of being a scalper, and said that I was just buying those resell on eBay. And I was like "Huh, No I'm not." Then he continued yelling at me saying he had bought one of those the other day and returned it because he found out they were all bootlegs, and that same figure was released a couple of years ago. I said "I know, it was part of a 2-pack", and he said "No it wasn't! It was a single release!" And that he had six of them at home! Then I said, "That's nice. Thanks very much." (BTW, I just happened to be on the phone with my mother this entire time). Then he finally left and walked away, but the whole time he was very aggressively screaming, "Go ahead, waste your money!! Waste your money!!" It was nuts.

Then I went to the Neca section and he was over there, and when he saw me, he took off. So I went to the front and paid for my figures. On the way out, I decided to go back down the figure aisle and I noticed that other GL I left on the pegs was gone. Most likely that guy saw me in the Neca section and booked it back to the figure aisle and grabbed that GL that I had left. So I assume he was just pissed because I got there before him and he was trying to get me not to buy those figures. Probably so he could take them all and sell them on eBay himself.

This is why I buy most of my figures online.

LOL, people of Walmart, man.  And yes, he was absolutely trying to get you to put them back so he could get them.  There's some real crazies out there.

The "digital" Joker figure is pretty great.  But why, oh why are different color knees suddenly a thing with over 50% of McFarlane and Hasbro figures?  I get that they are made from different plastics, but I swear in 25 years of 6" action figure buying, it is only just now becoming a thing.  Why is it suddenly so hard to match the knee color to the rest of the leg????

@ninjak Sorry that happened to you. It really is getting ridiculous out there at times. I've had people snatch things out of my hand or basket, push me out of the way when I'm at the pegs, or just straight up block other people with their carts. A few weeks ago I found a Hugo Strange Platinum at GameStop on one of the lower pegs. It's the one GS that doesn't have those little peg security things that need the employee key, so I took it off the peg and set it on the ground while I looked at the rest, and some guy comes along and slams his foot down on the box. Broke the plastic window, ripped the whole corner off, etc. He said something to me, but I don't remember because I was just kinda taken aback by the whole thing (had my headphones in too). I think it had something to do with being an in-box collector? The figure itself seemed fine, so I would've still gotten it, but this dude obviously was willing to play dirty to get what he wanted, and it wasn't a GameStop where the employees really care, so I don't think I'd have had any luck with a discount or anything, so I just walked out.

I miss the days when nerds and collectors like us were more timid and respectful. 🤣  The ironic part is that I'm sure I'd get along pretty well with any one of these guys, if they just took the time to strike up conversation instead of being an a-hole. We're all interested in the same things, after all. I've always wanted to find that local collector friend who can talk toys, maybe help each other out in our hunts, but people just see each other as competition anymore. Between rising prices and scattershot availability, it's tough enough finding things in store; when we finally do, there's so many things that just suck the fun out of it. Never thought I'd see the day where I prefer online shopping over the in-store hunt, but it's becoming not only easier, but less stressful.

I don't miss "the hunt". The only part I hate is feeding the scalpers when I can't find a store exclusive online.

Against my better nature, if I see a fellow geek in the aisle my first thought is "I wonder if he got to something first."  Which is weird since I pre-order almost everything.  The whole hunt/competition is just so engrained at this point I have to actively work past it.

Very strange behavior from this guy and the one mentioned above at Walmart.

I live in NYC (so not much opportunities to hunt for figures) and have a small child (so not much time to do so), but I don't miss the hunt at all. It's nice to be able to get most stuff sent directly to me. Only issues really are the retail-only store exclusives, particularly now the McFarlane platinum store exclusives. I'm hoping the platinum Lightning Lad and the regular and platinum Geo Force figures are available on CMDStore at some point, because I really don't want to pay $60 each on eBay.

@chooch555 Dude, same. Even if I have a guaranteed preorder in place I still to this day wind up with a serious case of FOMO. It hits me the hardest when I order an import and I just have to check myself and calm down cuz its like "Bro, chill. this figure will be on your doorstep. Just give it time..."

I'm even getting that feeling for custom fodder now, which is usually the lowest hanging fruit there could possibly be. I'm already enjoying my toys, but when I preorder a batch of headsculpts... that wait up until the 11th hour has me sweating.

Went through evil Bay to get the platinum Batman/Spawn Batman, and the blue Noel Batman.

The Spawn one, despite having the limitations of the bigger buck, is a really nice figure.  This head sculpt actually does seem like it's straight from the pages of the original cross-over.  Just wish they had gone with a cloth cape.

I should have the Noel platinum by tomorrow; I'm a sucker for blue/grey Batman, so looking forward to it.

As of now, the figure I'm most hyped for in the leaks/upcoming releases is the v.2 Year 2 Batman.  In my dream world, it would actually be an Alan Davis Batman (since he did the first issue), but of course I know it will be a second take @ Todd's version (which I'm not totally mad at, of course, love Todd's art).

My fear is that they'll try to do the same thing they did w/the recent Breyfogle Bats, where the cloth/wired cape was shaped so that you could recreate the art (even though it came with a plastic version that already did that).  I ended up tearing out the cloth cape from the shoulder piece, and replacing it with a wired Mezco cape, turned out pretty well, if i do say so myself.

Sorry for the long post.

Had to go to a part of town I rarely get to about 45 minutes away from my house today so I did an impromptu toy hunt. Stopped by a Target and found a Platinum Effigy figure and a Cyborg both on sale for $16 each. Then I stopped by a GameStop and they had the new Digital Silver Age Joker. I have him pre-ordered on BBTS, but I can't resist a "bird in the hand", so I picked him up. Probably the best classic Joker figure ever, IMO, so I definitely don't mind having multiples. I also found a wrestling figure I wanted to use as a henchman. All-in-all, a pretty good hunt.
