-DC RETRO 6IN WV12 – SUPER FRIENDS – SINESTRO

Interesting to have Super Friends added into the Retro line, which has included Batman 66 TV, Batman 66 comic, and the New Adventures of Batman...

Dedashot and Adam Strange!  Definitely want those.  But the Flash and Titano set, and Batman and Killer Croc set will probably be something I pick up.  As well as Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, and Mr. Terrific from the Justice League if they are in fact comic figures, and not from the Superman Movie. Which I took it from the way they are listed, they are NOT from the Superman Movie.

I mean... Titano....  how big can they really make him?    In the comics isn't he like, King Kong size?    Are they really going to make him like 22 inches tall?    Or is it going to be some more recent "tinier" Titano?

And please tell me it's not this one:

I don't need my giant apes wearing shirts and gloves and... foot gloves

Who am I kidding.    Oversize ape action figure?   I'm definitely buying it.   Anyone going to need a Flash figure?  Because I definitely won't.

@panthercult Generally all of the McF MegaFigs are around the same 10" size. (They may actually vary a little between 9"-12", but mostly 10"). I wouldn't expect anything different here. Same for the upcoming King Kong figure. I believe that I saw they were going to even pack a 3" page puncher Batman in that Kong pack to make Kong a more realistic size difference (although I believe that a 7" Batman is also included).

Todd doesn't care about scale in the slightest, as he proves to us consistently over and over. He even basically stated as such in a interview he had with Shartimus Prime that I watched.

Yeah... I more or less knew that already.   But I have a couple of Gorilla Grodd figures from McFarlane... for this to actually be Titano it really would need to be substantially bigger than those.   If not,  there are some pretty decent 15 to 20 inch King Kong figures from the movies that would probably make better Titano stand ins than this figure.

I saw Lucius Fox was back in stock at Walmart. I placed an order and it says it will be delivered today. If it shows up great, but I'm expecting a cancellation email.

Don't hold your breath, they've canceled on me three times.  I'm just going to keep placing orders, it will either waste Walmart's time or I'll eventually get one.

I also saw that Walmart had Lucius Fox back in stock last week, so I ordered one and he was supposed to arrive this past Wednesday on 11/13, but as soon as that date came I got a message saying that my order was "delayed" and to check back later. So I've been checking in for the last couple of days and it still says delayed. Which is weird since he's supposedly in stock.

@mysticmanjrf no way McF figures are better than any mass market toy line, even just current ones. Top of my head: GI Joe Classified, Transformers, Jada Street Fighter, and Marvel Legends are way more impressive as figure lines and in many cases individual figures. The one thing DC Multiverse has going for it is mass- there are just so many of these things released, and often very quickly after being announced.

But like you said, roughly half of the figures have some obviously glaring design or execution flaw that make me wonder if the design team is quiet quitting. It takes McF like three tries attempts at the same character to get it right.

Yes, only McFarlane takes multiple tries to get a figure right.

That's why Hasbro has basically released the same classic Captain America figure FIVE TIMES now with slight improvements each time.

1. They started with Cap-Wolf and that figure had no scale-mail on his shirt, the head-sculpt was awful, and the blue was too dark to be classic comic accurate.

2. But then shortly after that they released the Rero Card version where they added painted on scales and brightened the blue, (but kept the fugly head).

3. Then came the 80th Anniversary figure that fixed almost all the previous problems. It had a new head (2 in fact), and sculpted scale-mail, but the blue went back to being too dark for a classic comic Cap, and his shield was too small, but not to worry because just a couple of years later we got…

4. 20th Anniversary Cap that finally fixed everything to make the perfect classic Captain America Marvel Legends figure. The correct bright blue color, sculpted scale-mail shirt, an unmasked head and, Well… except for the shield with holes in it. But wait, there's more…

5. Now we have Secret Wars Captain America that is the exact same figure as 20th Anniversary Cap, but now with spiffy new pin-less joints!! Yay! Oh, but wait he only comes with a cracked and broken shield. But don't worry, I'm sure in a year or two they'll re-release him yet again with a different shield.

Hasbro has also done the exact same thing with classic Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Iron Man.

But you're right. Only McFarlane ever releases an imperfect version of character then slightly improves on it for the next release.

You quoted my whole post but I dont think you read it. I never said or insinuated Marvel Legends don’t retread old characters, just included ML in a list of more impressive figure lines. If you want to get into the particulars of consumer engineering, at least most of Marvel Legends second attempts are improvements on an adequate initial release. Also, they are years apart. McFarlane releases a figure with several obvious issues and then a second release of that same figure three months later that changes the color but doesn’t fix the issues.

In other news, $250. 😂

Fine list of stuff, things missed however are;

- TDKR 7" Recreation

-The Killing Joke 7" Recreation

Most likely these will be just more advanced 2packs, including a diorama.  I've only got spotty info on them but yeah.  Expecting/hoping it's finally a way to get the Mutant Leader out, maybe even a Mutant member or 2!

I'm also skeptical that the CE of JSA Hawkgirl, Terrific and Gardner are indeed from the movie.  It would make zero sense to release another CE MT and Gardner less than 6months after their initial releases.

I'm interested to see which version of Deadshot Todd does. And I'm worried that if it's classic, he's gonna use the BB buck.

Does someone know what those might end up looking? Google isnt helping.

@shinigami-customs weren't the JLA in the 6th dimensions wearing those white and gold team uniforms?

I haven't read either of those books, that's why I'm asking for some reference pics.

"Due to the mature nature of the Joker movie, we faced unique restrictions on pricing options, which made this approach the only way we could release the product."

This is one of those instances where my lack of marketing degree keeps me from completely understanding things, I suppose.  Going to Target stores and seeing highly detailed, R-rated serial killer action figures from NECA for $35-$40 a pop only adds to my confusion.

I'd say it's more to do with the ones granting the license.  It's probably Warners that is concerned about it, not McFarlane.  I know Warners had issues with NECA including gun accessories with some Gremlins figures in the past, for example.

Couldn’t find anything for croc but as for Batman one I they’re referring to this suit.

sadly it won’t be as big like in the comics but I’ll still get it.
