Well it absolutely should be on the Knightfall body, except with the colors we were hoping for back then. But it's Todd so he'll probably put it on Three Jokers or the SuperBat body. Because Todd.
For anyone who could be interested in it (it's fun for me!), I've figured out the reuse on that new Red Hood - Grifter diaper and Arkham Knight RH hands, the rest is newly sculpted. Which is cool but also the Grifter pants have some grandpa levels of being pulled up and the texture doesn't match the newer parts so 🤷🏼♂️
And I'm liking Cyborg much more without that GL gun, they could've given him the cannon from PP Heatwave.
I'll grab Hood for my kid and Cyborg for myself.
I was running some errands and stopped by a Walmart I rarely go to for something and found Max Mercury and the zombie or is it vampire Shazam. Picked up Mercury and immediately canceled my Walmart preorder. I don’t understand why he's showing up in stores but Walmart's website delayed him until the end of September.
Could it have helped to give him some running hands and some fists instead of a trigger hand, McFarlane Toys?!
Got Ragman in. Cape feels kind of small since this is more intended to be his 90s look, and I wish he came with extra sets of hands... but overall? So glad he exists. Give us Nightshade next, Todd!
We definitely need to pair a Kelley Jones Batman with Ragman too.Got Ragman in. Cape feels kind of small since this is more intended to be his 90s look, and I wish he came with extra sets of hands... but overall? So glad he exists. Give us Nightshade next, Todd!
@stoopid_sandwich Kelley Jones Batman would be sick!
At this point, it's crazy how solid a 90s Gotham display is looking. Outside supporting civilian characters, we only really need:
- Spoiler
- Azrael
- Hitman
- The Creeper
I'm surprised we're even getting a 90s Huntress. She's been a top 10 DC pick for me for a while now, and even if she's just a chase variant, I'm glad this costume is FINALLY getting some form of representation. And I was already surprised enough about Knightfall Nightwing.
I guess I'm in for DC Multiverse, now.
Is that a thing people will actually want? Like frostbite Batman - I guess I cold see as something you could display with your Mr. Freeze or something... but golden x-ray Grundy... it's hard to imagine feeling like that's a need.
On the other hand... the engineering is really cool. Like there are actual sculpted skeleton parts inside the translucent plastic parts? That seems like an insane amount of cost to make... you'd essentially have to sculpt, make molds and print an entire second figure then place those parts inside the bigger mold and pour translucent plastic around them and assemble. No paint work, sure... but still. It's still not a figure I'm going to make space for in my collection, but I do have to admire the work that went into it.
And I guess it's way cooler than some of the ridiculous variants they're pumping out like whatever the translucent blue Deathstroke is that Gamestop is getting...
I don't really think it's as ingenious as you think. I'm thinking all the skeletal stuff you're seeing is just painted on the figure. Why would they go back and redo that entire Grundy mold when it was already tooled for the first figure? Seems like more money spent on a lazy repaint than would normally be done.
I stopped by my Walmart last night and they had six each of DCvV Shazam and Max Mercury plus two of the Platinum Lucius Fox. I'd already gotten my Shazam and Max from CMD Store but bought one of the Lucius, even though I already have the one that came with the Tumbler.
We also need a GCPD roster. Cornelius Stirk, Amygdala, Black Mask, Firefly, Classic Harley Quinn, Anarky, KGBeast, 90's Nightwing in the Black/blue costume (with optional long ponytail please) Ventriloquist & Scarface, Killer Croc, Classic Azreal, Blockbuster II, Lady Vic, Torque, Bird, Zombie, Trog,Deacon Blackfire and finally Checkmate@stoopid_sandwich Kelley Jones Batman would be sick!

Has McFarlane said anything about changing the Batman Forever Batmobile's lights from green to blue, like they should be? I kinda want to cancel my BBTS order because the lights are wrong, but it's sold out, and I do want the car. I suppose I could replace the lights with blue ones myself. Actually shouldn't be hard, but I also shouldn't have to do it.
Found 1 black and 3 blue Batman reborn figures at a walmart in MD. Picked up two blue versions. They also had bullseye Batman and Adam West there as well.

Scales perfectly next to NECA Batman. I’m torn on Ragman…he should be darker colors and he is devoid of paint…but I’m also just happy he exists.
I’ve been enjoying the non chase parts of the line. The wave of collector figures with Ragman was solid, I’m really loving the West/Grayson figures, and Cyborg/Red Hood look great. To an extent the chase figures have been more obscure…Shining Knight, Effigy, Sportsmaster. At least not to the level of Blue Azrael.
Still, common sense could go a long way. Like making 90s Huntress the main figure with all of your other 90s releases instead of a New 52 look that fits with nothing…or maybe 50/50 pack your GL variants on a figure made to buy multiples instead of making a figure with 2 unique heads a 1 in 6. Looking at EBay prices it seems like the bottom is falling out with so many resellers/flippers buying this line that aren’t keeping them, I think a small change could make a lot of these much easier to get.
I got Darkseid, and he's...ok I guess? Really not much in the way of poseability with him. I just basically put him in the traditional "Darkseid shaking his fist" pose and put him on the shelf. Big difference between him and the Storm Collectibles Darkseid (which is crazy poseable but not Kirby-esque), which hung out on my desk in a bunch of different poses and battle scenes for a few months. I find these megafigs to be pretty lackluster overall. Clayface, Darkseid, Manbat...they look good, but have so little useful articulation that you can't really enjoy them all that much.
Yeah, Todd’s done a good job at making the standard figures articulation pretty good and usable but the mega figs don’t pose as well, despite having most of the same articulation points. I suspect that’s a factor that leads to many of them hitting clearance prices. It’s hard when they have bulging muscles the size of normal figure’s torsos but Hasbro has figured out a way to make most of their larger figures still pose able so it’s possible.
Is it just me or are Darkseid's fist hands more like he's wearing socks than gloves?
