Agreed. I don't think it's the existence of exclusives and variants that is untenable. We've all been in this game long enough that we've accepted them as a part of collecting. It's the sheer amount, choices, and seeming randomness (what does Platinum vs. Collector vs. Gold really mean at this point?) that make this line incredibly frustrating.
Also the differential in the price point. I am all for ‘collector’ but a $7 up charge on standard figures for very little if anything in return is hard to defend. Those DC card holders do nothing for anyone surely?
Not to mention the "blind box" variants. Its one thing to have 2 paint schemes for a figure. In 2024 to not know which one will show up at your door is inexcusable. In the 90s when this was common you had the figure in hand and could choose to buy or not buy the item.

The Platinum Cyborg Superman is my most wanted. Already secured one, but also had a preorder in at Amazon from months ago. Then used up Circle reward on one at Target + Robin...that's arriving today!

I must admit this looks fantastic. The last truly comic book looking Batmobile in my movie opinion. Way over the top and unmistakably Batman.
I received my Batman, Batwoman & Clayface 3 pack today from Amazon. I am surprised and relieved that I received a sealed package with the correct contents inside. It was shipped in an amazon box but the corrugated box on the inside didn't look previously opened and the McFarlane tape was intact. The DC Multiverse box was sealed and not tampered with. I'm glad I ordered it for half off and fortunately got an unopened package. I only wanted Batwoman, Now I have 2 Clayface figures and an alternate Batman.
I did get my CE Ragman, Red Hood & Clock King from MTS the other day. I won Agent Liberty from the EQL drawing, so that is on the way. I also got Cyborg Superman at my local Gamestop. This Gamestop has been putting out new figures every couple of days. I go everyday since it is only 5 minutes from my house. I keep hoping to find the Platinum Sportsmaster, Manhunter & Reverse Flash.

Exactly right. If I wouldn't buy the silly card holder for $7 (I wouldn't), then I don't want to pay $7 more for a figure on account of its inclusion. I've been waiting for these to discount on principle but they're not going down.
