I just had the realization that if they didn't cheap out on sculpting an all new body for Superboy, they would've had the easy option to reuse it as N52 Morrison early Supes as well.
@yojoebro82 I have two regular still unopened. If you want to do a trade let me know. I do believe we traded before well not really traded. It was you or JT Marsh can't remember which. I sent my Amazon three pack of Magneto, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver the head sculpt of Quicksilver to one of you since I was using the old Hasbro ML Quicksilver head sculpt on the 3 pack body. I used to be drkknght64 if that rings a bell.A couple weeks ago I got Riddler from amazon. Wanted the regular, got the platinum.
Today I got JLA John Stewart from amazon. Wanted the regular, got the platinum.
Aaaarrrggghhh!
So I've ordered that Stewart from Amazon twice and gotten the Platinum both times, but I sold them both on ebay for $40 each. I just placed a third order this morning to once again try to get the regular version. If I knew that I'd get the platinum Superman, I'd order him - already have the blue.
My replacement John came today, another platinum. Forget it. I'm just going to preorder from BBTS.
That must have been someone else, but sure, I'm up for a trade for John Stewart. You can email me at adamail22@yahoo.com and we'll go from there.
I can't believe that great looking Robin and best bargain ever for $19.99 Cyborg Superman are still available for pre-order from Target. I just hope they are not delayed and delayed and delayed, lol.
Platinum Sinestro was not on my radar but I picked him up today for $25 at a LCS, at that price it seemed like I shouldn't pass him up. Kyle and Kilowog also arrived today from amazon (discounted price). Add to that my DCUC Stel which my wife got me many years ago for my birthday and suddenly I have a Todd GL Corp starting to form. Stel fits in perfectly height-wise.
Yeah, Sinestro looks cooler in that pic than I thought he would. I guess I will have to wait a couple years and hope the prices are not too high on ebay. I haven't actually checked, I'm just assuming. Email replied.
LOL, just got my 3rd consecutive Platinum John Stewart from Amazon. Was easily able to sell the first two on ebay for $40 each, so will try one more time I guess. What's hilarious is the only thing I really care about are the legs for Plastic Man, but if I can keep ordering and profiting off of receiving Platinums then I guess there's no reason to stop. I originally had this pre-ordered through BBTS but I think they sold their original pre-orders and didn't seem to be getting any back in quickly, which is why I moved on Amazon since they had it in stock.
Is it really worth the shipping hassle though? After eBay take their 10% and the hazards of unscrupulous buyers it’s always seemed more trouble than it’s worth to me. Amazon are a pain with the platinums.
It may or may not be worth it as it doesn't necessarily drive a lot of profit per item, but every little bit helps. Since I have an ebay store anyway and always have hundreds of items up for sale at any given time, I don't really notice any additional inconvenience for this. If having it available might get someone to buy something else from me at the same time, it's probably worth it. I offer 25% off any total purchase when someone buys two or more items in the same transaction due to the savings for me on shipping. I sell a ton of figures. Ebay is a nice side gig for me that generated just under $20k in sales last calendar year for me. Things have really slowed down since about mid-November 2023 though, and haven't really ever picked back up. Most of last year I sold a couple of items per day, the last 6 months it's been more like a couple of items per week. I take that as a sign of a slowing economy. It has been bad though. Through the first 5 1/2 months of the year I'm at the same spot in annual sales I was in mid-February for 2023 (or 1 1/2 months) and generally I've had more product available for sale during the slower times.
If Todd gave us Fire in this costume with POA in the double digits and joint pins that don't crumble apart like all DC Direct joint pins do, I'd be all over it.
Absolutely. I’m not really into translucent figures, so Fire is a pass unless I find her on clearance. I would also buy the version of Ice that goes with this version of Fire.
The fourth try was the charm to get the regular JLA John Stewart from Amazon. I have sold 2 of the 3 Platinums on ebay so far. The other two sold very quickly for $40, so I decided to try $45 for the third one.
Getting some more time with my Kyle and Kilowog 2 pack and playing around with it some more today. This is really a great set. I'm in the camp of "Kyle is 'my' Green Lantern" and I like this one a lot better than the single release. The deeper greens on his costume and the extra power battery really make a big difference. I'd say he's about perfect and if you're a Kyle fan I can't imagine being disappointed in this one. Kilowog is just very impressive. Some people don't like the texturing in the costume, I'm digging it a lot, I think it just gives you a lot more to look at. I love his power battery too. I like the hammer but I wish he had an extra grip hand to hold it and the battery (the constructs are supposed to be on their ring hand, correct?). For a big guy, he has some decent articulation. Don't sleep on this set, it might end up as my favorite DCM release of the year.
Was at local Target in the Collector's Spot section looking for McF stuff. This store is nearly barren. Afflecks & clearance Rivals. This guy pulls up with a cart & just stares. I look over at him with a wtf look. If it was me, I would just wait until they vacated. Certainly not stand & stare at what I'm looking at. Weirdos.
