Just got the 89 Batmobile / Bat Keaton.Β Really is wonderful for $80.Β May need to do some minor tweaks, but even the packaging alone is great presentation by Todd.Β Even ships in a box within a box within a box with those black plastic corner supports to keep things looking crisp right out of the box like he did with the Kickstarter Spawn.Β Really fantastic for someone like myself who was looking to source parts to rebuild my partial Kenner Batman Returns Batmobile I had as a kid.Β And they say that vehicles wont sell...
Ugh, Todd, what's going on with Black Lightning.Β Forget the fact the the figure has hair and the trading card pictures him bald, Todd's figures match the trading card it comes with MAYBE one out of ten times, but the leftover pipping from whatever figure used this mold originally and slapping a new belt over the old belt because you didn't want to bother making a new diaper?Β Double UGH!Β We're slipping into Hasbro laziness territory here and it's not good.

Hmm the Speeding Bullets reuse looks much better than anticipated, I actually like the armored piping and the new chest/boots. But the belt situation is just laughably bad.
Yeah...that looks objectively bad. Should have just used the Booster Gold body mold. I don't understand why they decided to use the Speeding Bullets base for just 1 figure, with no smoothing/rework of the actual sculpt. Both inaccurate and probably out of scale with other classics.Β
We've all wanted this mold re-used and now it's being done in the worst possible way. Just take a diaper piece from one of your bajillion figures that didn't have a belt sculpted on and put it on this figure. Absolutely lazy and ridiculous.
I feel very hot and cold on McFarlane sometimes. Why is Hawkman a 10/10 and this Black Lightning is a 3. Some of the best figures we've gotten at this price point mixed with some of the most kind boggling, lazy mistakes.Β
I used my rusty Photoshop skills to mock up what would be my perfect Batman. This is basically a Year One Batman. It's the Knightfall body in black and gray, with a black bat symbol and a pouch belt.ΒΒ

Yeahhhh, I bought the first two and sold off a bunch because I don't have a use for them. I'll be skipping this pack altogether.
