I want to love and collect this line, I swear I do. But what is going on with the weird texture and detailing on Kilowog! That’s a 10/10 head sculpt on a body I’ve never seen before in a comic.
And yet if I sell my old Kyle right now, it pays for half of the new 2 pack and I can avoid painting him a darker green.
The economics work out for you this time, Todd…
I'm interested in the GL 2 pack but I don't know if I like it that much for the price. It's the same price as the original price for the Batman, Batwoman & Clayface 4 pack, which is now on sale. It's hard to say if this will sell out or remain on amazon until the price lowers. I already have the other 3 Kyle figures, but that outfit goes with the JLA, Titans & GLC.
I don't remember that look for Kilowog but it reminds me of his look from the animated series.
Huh. I've spent enough time on customizing Beast Boy BAF into Sabretooth to recognize the body shape and those undies. Kilowog is a HIGHLY resculpted version of that body, I think the only straight up reused parts are said diaper and shoulder rings.
The texturing and general costume design is a bit crazy BUT I think it's suffering because it lacks a dedicated paintjob. I think it will look much better and much more coherent once someone paints it properly.
Headsculpt is quite killer, though, easily on part with DCUC.
Kilowog looks incredible. Just not sure 70 bucks incredible. I'll wait for the inevitable discount, but definitely picking this up.

See....I'm not sure how much this matters to me anymore. Overall, do I think this looks cool? If the answer is yes, I'm not very likely to fret over it. How many costume changes does the average superhero see in the comics alone? Then take into account all of the multiverse looks, all the video game, movie, TV, and animation looks. Let's say between ALL of those genres, our average hero has 15 different looks all of which are a slight variation on the same them. Then Todd comes along and gives us slight variation number 16. Well so what? "Todd made it up?" The produces of the TV show made up their own look too. The video game designers made up their own look. They took what came before, tweaked it a little bit (and in most cases I mean a VERY little bit) and said "here's ours". That's how I look at it these days. I think it used to be a bigger deal to me. Now, especially with DC Multiverse which I am very far from being "all in" on, it just doesn't matter as much.
I'll be selling my Gold Label Kyle to fund this set. Looks great.
I realize I may be alone in this, but I'd like to see more animated figures in the Multiverse. Wonder Woman at the very least. Hawkgirl would be great too to finish the original Dini/Timm Justice League team. A villain like Joker would be nice to pair with the Harley Quinn, who I forgot is actually a really nice figure. I know these figures weren't met with the most love, but a Multiverse animated Wonder Woman is one of my top wants right now.
I'm still hoping/praying the rest of the animated Teen Titans will one day get announced to go with Cyborg!
platinum steel is up for raffle.

Yes but keep in mind that I and everyone else is now thinking the same thing. He's probably not going to fetch what he was going for a few days ago before this reveal.
Mattel did Kilowog better. He is proportioned too much like a big dude. Not ‘Hulking’ enough for the oversized Alien that he is. Just my take. At $70 it’s a pass glad for those that are excited for these though.
This probably isn't going to be a popular take, but recently I'm finding that the more figures that I buy from this line the less I'm liking it and the more I'm appreciating the Mattel DCUC figures that I have. There have some been great figures in this McFarlane line, no doubt -- but I find myself really souring on some of proportions on a lot these figures with the really long legs, the diaper, super inconsistent scaling.... Mattel seemed to use the same basic buck for just about everybody but at least they look good together on a shelf. I'm also biased because I know that I'd like this line a lot better if it was 6" scale rather than 7" scale. When I'm actively making the decision to store the McFarlane figures in a bin and keeping the Mattel figures displayed it really makes me question why I keep buying so many McFarlane figures.... especially as the prices increase. So far I've bought at least one version of every character they've made just like I did for Mattel and DC Direct (and Hasbro and Toy Biz for Marvel Legends), but I'm starting to think it might be time to abandon that if I'm really not enjoying them that much. I think that I honestly just expected that there would have been more ongoing improvements since the launch of the line. I'm finding that most of my favorite figures that McFarlane has done were done earlier in the line rather than recently (Captain Carrot is an exception, as is Lobo's Space Hog). Is anyone else feeling the same way, or is this just me?
I bought the $40 Superman figure. Didn't want to do it. But damn does it look like a great Superman figure. Hopefully some of the other Superman heads work on it too, not that I mind the old man head they gave it.

I'd get to selling my Kyle right now.....but will amazon mess something up and leave me Kyle-less? I mean, it will PROBABLY work out but.....

That body & cape is prime for a Christopher Reeve Collector Edition.
