@dchimpy I totally agree about how fun these toys are! It's my favorite current line by far. There are so many characters that I would have no interest in as SA figures, but I love in the Super Powers style. It's also great to have the vehicle play features. Every single one is fun to play with. The cost on these is great too. I have multiples of every vehicle and most figures. I like having a sealed set along with a loose one and extras of my favorites to mess around with. At $10 or less, I don't even feel bad about buying probably 12 or so classic Batmans. I wanted a carded one, a loose one, a few to play with and extras to drive all the Bat vehicles that eventually come out. I really hope this line lasts a long time.
You're absolutely right, the price point is a big draw for me too! I always wanted Super Powers as a kid but never had any. About 10 years ago so I started buying the original Kenner line on ebay and completed the first two waves and the original Batmobile. The McFarlane figures are a great compliment to that 84 line, especially the vehicles.
I just got the Brainiac ship today. It looks great and will make a nice display piece on the shelf, but it's kind of disappointing. The moving tentacle action feature is the worst in the line. I kind of hate that there is no steering wheel or some kind of control handle to hold on to. Also, the mentions of needing a top to the head are correct. I don't mind it open at all for display, but a seat with a closed top would have been way cooler to play with.
Even with the disappointment, I still like it and think I might track down an extra vintage Brainiac to drive it.
@dchimpy For similar reasons, I love the Hasbro Marvel retro 3.75" Ghost Rider. I really don't care for Ghost Rider riding a red bike, but I absolutely fell in love with that toy.
Reign of Supermen. Teen Titans. Doom Patrol. Legion of Doom. All great suggestions.
Black Manta is up on EE, but only in a case. Hopefully that means we can get a single release too.
The tentacles move? I assume it's the entire set on each side moving as a solid piece?
If anyone missed out and wants the full next wave with the two gold figures, it's on Amazon.
I tried to post a link, but it won't work. Search for:
dc super powers 6 pack
Saw this gorgeous custom over the wknd, but brainfarted with the cropping so I don't recall who did it or where he showed it off.
I still hate the garbage-useless tentacles, but I may need to scarf one of these nonetheless.
Amazon delayed my Hal and Sinestro a monthish.
if anyone missed the wave with gold flash and gold batman, that case is back up at EE ( for preorder )
I ordered the 6 pack box of figures from Entertainment Earth to get Black Manta & it arrived today. I also needed Batman, Robin & Aquaman but now I have 2 more Batman Figures.
Entertainment Earth has the set for sale with the Gold Batman & Gold Flash by the case.
Does anyone think the Gold Label Skull Ship with Brainiac will come back in stock once it releases?
I somehow spaced on ordering it.
