What a time for Fwoosh to go down, eh?
Through the partnership, Mattel is awarded the global licensing rights to develop and market a full range of DC-themed action figures, playsets, accessories, role play products, and adult collectibles starting in the second half of 2026. The agreement spans all DC stories and characters including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, and many more.
Nick Karamanos, SVP of Entertainment Partnerships at Mattel, said: “It is an incredibly proud milestone to welcome DC back to Mattel. We look forward to leveraging our Mattel Playbook approach to brand management, product design, and innovation to bring DC’s popular characters to life across all channels. This renewed partnership will reflect our shared passion for engaging and inspiring fans and collectors of all ages.”

I hope Super Powers continues.
If Mattel can bring the quality of Masterverse or WWE Elite/Ultimate Edition to DC figures, we're gonna be eating well.
I was really surprised seeing this yesterday - like What!? Funny how it was discussed here so much during the early McFarlane days and now it's happening.
It's a good thing. I lost interest in McFarlane a couple years ago. I loved his early stuff with Capullo and other artist specific stuff. It was recent and fun. I liked Page Punchers. The figures were flawed with proportions, but I overlooked it when the line was exciting overall. Then it just descended into a few mediocre bodies repainted and phoned in. Todd knew he would get sales from the movie figures and there's a place for that. Not for me though and if WB is like they used to be - they want to cross market their current comics and maybe actually make.....good figures??
Remember that Dave Vonner Batman??? LFG. That would blow away anything and maybe that was part of their pitch. I'm pretty sure they present something when bidding on a license and I don't think they will recycle the old 4H figures. I love their MOTU stuff since I'm an 80s Transformers kid and am looking forward to what they come out with. I don't care a ton, but will be interested.
So over the years my beloved ToyBiz Legends were replaced and I sold the vast majority of them off. Is the same about to happen to my DCUC collection? I was sad to see some TB go; excited to see others.
Whilst it is nice to imaginge that Mattel did try to woo DC with some potential product designs, I'm pretty sure the only thing that Mattel showed, and the only thing that mattered to DC, was the amount of money they were going to pay for the license.
Right now I feel like I just got news that my old college girlfriend that I split with quasi-amicably is moving back to town, but I've already moved on and got married.
If this is Mattel bringing back a 6 inch DC line with iterations and upgrades based on what they've done with Masterverse and WWE as of late... Hell yes.
I'm a little sad that I got the first ever Ragman figure though, and now he'll be lonely without the Shadowpact team, or at least just Nightshade. Here's to hoping Mattel makes figures of that team!
Saw this on Reddit, could be the first Bats figure that comes out, not confirmed.

That's a mock up near the end of Mattel's last run. They won't show anything official until 2026 at the earliest.
I am SO excited at the idea of having good DC figures again that will probably scale with Marvel Legends. Good riddance Todd.

What if Mattel makes them in the 7 inch Masterverse scale?
@kryptonian I'd still get them. My bigger need is team-building and an abundance of female characters. I don't display DC with Marvel but occasionally will take a picture, crossover-style.
I mean... that was a figure they had designed for their previous line when they assumed they would renew the license back before McFarlane outbid them. I remember seeing it shown years ago...
It's possible they'd still use it, but also possible they start from scratch. It would be kind of hilarious to see the heads explode if some of their initial releases were that old canceled wave that had the Collect n' Connect Mammoth - the wave was supposed to have Simon Baz, Hawkgirl, Impulse, Black Canary, Aquaman.... it would be about the laziest thing Mattel could do.
I think it's much more likely they come out of the gate next year with items to support current media offerings - stuff to coincide with the new Superman movie they are making, maybe the Creature Commandos toon that's been on Max, the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Clayface, Brave and the Bold... We're still a year away from seeing what Mattel has in store though.
