First reactions were good when pics snuck out, but after seeing the full display I'm really impressed. Seeing the display this is clearly a new Batman. He's noticeably thicker and bulkier than the original HUSH Batman who I always thought was a bit too lean. So I'm cautiously excited for it. Will get both Flashback and Swashbuckling Batman if they are on this (what I think is an improved) body.
Doomsday!! Give me all the Superman figures you can. He should be rockier and wider, but still looks great. This is a quiet side collection for me since the releases are so spaced out, but I actually can't wait to preorder those HUSH 2.0 figures, Clark, Batgirl and Doomsday. I think last year we saw Knightfall Batman greyscale and now he's standing on my table behind me. So maybe next year 😀 Great work.
Let's get Flash, Green Lantern and Mongul. Wonder Woman obviously as well.
Batman's arms look a hair more muscular, but I think it's the same body. *shrug*

Man if that Batman comes with swapable torso, so we can still recreate modern Batman, that would be awesome. Similar to what they did with Nightwing's back piece. Hard to tell if its a new body mold or not, but if it is, this is what I'd like.

That was my first response on Monday. If you look at the new figure in a vacuum then it looks the same because the sculpting aesthetic from Mafex is the same across most superheroes. Then I saw this pic Tuesday of the full display
There's no way those are the same figure. Background/Foreground or the new cape assembly doesn't account for the mass. The legs and upper torso are much heftier. I am sorry if this picture isn't coming up, I have never had an issue on these boards, but haven't posted one since the last crash.
But if anyone can see it or fix this post then look it over. I'll be impressed if I can be convinced this is just some repack. Maybe a dilated CAD file, but no. If I'm right it's a Day 1 pre-order.
You're right, it looks bigger. I'm still skeptical that they'd sculpt a new Batman, though. Especially one so similar.
Gonna snatch up Tim Drake Robin, both Batman figures, Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent and maybe Ra’s. I’m not impressed with Mafex’s Doomsday at first glance, but hopefully they’ll improve on him.
Ordered the last Bane figure at BBTS. Just need to ship him with my PoL.
Far be it from me to get in the way of a good Batgirl figure but I don’t recall Batgirl being in Hush?
like hmmberto said barbara was batgirl in the novel, it was in a flashback panel with that classic oval batman
If that's the only panel Batwoman appeared in during Hush then making a figure based upon that one panel is quite odd. She doesn't even appear to have a cape there like the figure does unless it's so abstract I'm overlooking it. Or is that blank area behind her hair supposed to be a cape?
I mean Mafex did make a figure of Batman with the jump suit from Hush and that was only on like one or two pages. They also made a black and grey Batman variant even though the costume in the story was grey and blue. If Mafex uses that as excuse to give us a Barbara Gordon Batgirl figure, I'm not going to complain. Hopefully the figure is not colored like that flashback scene.
The original HUSH was revealed like 7 years ago I think and I felt it was small then. I was never convinced of him. We're always getting new Wolverines, Spider-mans, Vaders, etc. that are better so I think this makes sense even if the price is far greater. I guess I will be hunting down figures if this guy is the HUSH 2.0.
I expect to pre-order both Batmans and Ras, Robin, Clark and Bruce. I will get Doomsday, I'm excited but agree he should be wider. I think we need a new classic Superman with proper S-shield for that line. If it's true that Mafex licenses by the story then I wonder if that line can sneak in some of the more requested DC heroes.
Goddamn, is Batman that old already? Batman and Superman are too thin for my tastes, but they're still the best figures of each character. Hopefully this really is a new base body.
If it's true that MAFEX is licensing by story, and I find that a definite possibility, then they really need to go for Crisis on Infinite Earths. Getting even a small sampling of the classic DC characters in their iconic looks, based on the art of George Perez, would be amazing.
I don't get the too small complaints for Bruce, I really don't. It was only really in TDKR where he bulks up, prior to that he was always more athletic, not a darn bodybuilder. I don't understand this need to have massive steroid junkie versions of characters, they're already way more ripped than anyone here will ever be.
lol I was plenty ripped in my day. I think a lot of people look to heroes for that reason. And others for wildly different reasons. To me Knightfall Batman is perfect, but Jim Lee drew him bigger. I need him the size of their Cyclops who absolutely matches the art if I'm going to invest this line.
I think COIE has to be the number one story for getting a comprehensive (classic) universe. I just wonder if Funeral for a Friend would cover that already. I assume "Rebirth" or "new52" wouldn't be a story they could license but I would like to see that in a few years.

You have to remember that these are imports to everyone not in Japan, and Medicom is a Japanese company, so if they ARE going by storyline, they might be doing arcs that have SOME kind of popularity there.
This is a quick, crude side by side of the 2 figures from that display, and it looks like it might be a little thicker than the V1 we got.
Thanks for the side by side. It's absolutely thicker. I could maybe see the arms being the same, possibly abs. Not much else. Kudos to them. I wish we got a panel or something to hear about it. When we might see pre-orders? January? There's kind of a lot coming.
btw as I started slowly buying some Mafex and researching I did stumble on some alleged "leaks" or inside info. It doesn't match up with this DC display, but the Marvel one somewhat did. So maybe it's all hooey but Superman Red/Blue and Green Arrow were on it. I wonder if that could be.....Morrison JLA?

I hope Mafex licenses Superman's For Tomorrow storyline so we can get Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Zod and Equus.
