Also the McFarlane version doesnt include the staff which is bizarre since its just a brown stick...

I hadn't realized that either, but you're right. On quick glance, I saw the stick for the stand and thought it was his staff. What the heck, Todd? I'm biased, of course, with my love of the character, but it's a lot of people's favorite design of his, and all you give him are a couple extra arms? Especially when all these parts already exist; I assume he has the molds for the weapons too, and how expensive can a straight brown stick really be? I guess if he can stand well enough on his own, I'll just use the stick for the stand as his staff (since he ironically enough included gripping hands FOR the staff). The baffling decisions of Todd McFarlane continue.

Its odd because you would think the mold/tool has the figure and all the parts in it so if you are going "back to print" as it were all the parts would be made at the factory (even if you remove the gun due to WB policies - which in itself is being inconsistent since the Mafex Knightmare Batman and Joker/Murray set both include guns!)

ARGH! Got my Maxie Zeus wave today, opened it, put him together and the freaking arm peg snapped inside the joint! Now I have to return 2 figures (Lightning Batman & Joker) to get a new arms & torso!

Great QC Todd!

Nope, doesn't even include the hand with the molded coin!
I think i'll be grabbing the old DCC version now the prices have fallen a bit.

Long shot, but does anyone have the McFarlance Batman Beyond Bruce Wayne & Ace set and doesn't want the trading card? Looking to get one. I have the original release of this set, so don't need to buy a second just for the card (even though that's all I want).

DraksToys have a review of the Page Punchers Red Hood and shows there is a Platinum version of Red Hood more in the colours of the "Under The Red Hood" movie

My Batplane arrived from Target today. For those worried about it shipping in its packaging, don't be. It comes in a case of 1 and Target shipped it in the shipping case.

(I took a picture but can't figure it how to upload it here.)

You have to use sites like postimages.org , imgur.com or flikr.com and link directly to the image here. You no longer need the old [img] tags.

Got McFarlane's re-release of the TNBA Scarecrow yesterday. Even as a huge Scarecrow fan, it's a bit underwhelming, with some truly baffling decisions. The joints are a little looser, which is nice, but man, just about everything else is such a letdown. Of all the characters who could've benefitted from cel shading, this was one of the biggest (I know Todd hasn't done cel shading on the TNBA figures, but still). He even went so far as to switch up the paint colors- he couldn't have added a bit more shading around the eyes while he was at it?

Add to that the baffling lack of accessories. My general rule is- the bare minimum a character should come with is whatever they're shown using on the box. I get the whole "no guns" thing (even though the gun in question he came with only fired off the no-fear toxin), but why no toxin canister? Why no staff (the one thing he's shown holding on the box and in the cel)? Instead we get a bunch of hands to hold things he doesn't even come with. And the faux cel, while a neat little addition for someone like me who collects the actual cels, adds insult to injury. The episode is "Never Fear" (1 of only 2 episodes this incarnation appears in), but on the description on the back, they couldn't even get that right. They list the episode as "Beware the Creeper" and the episode description is from "Love Is A Croc". How is it possible to not only mess up the title name, but list an episode description from a completely different episode than the already wrong title you gave, neither of which Scarecrow even appears in? That, to me, shows a complete lack of care for this little sub-line. They obviously just copy/pasted something for the mockup, and in all the QA checks (assuming there were any at all), not a single person bothered to change it or realize the mistake?

I have him holding the stick from the stand that he came with to simulate his staff, and it works well enough, at least until I can find something closer. A good thing he stands well enough on his own, since the clip for the stand can't seem to find tension and actually stay up- it kept sliding all the way down the stick, so I couldn't have stood him on it even I wanted to. I miss the turnaround character models they had on the original stands too; these generic title card ones just feel so plain.

I'm not necessarily angry that I got the figure. It's not a bad figure itself, it's everything around it that baffles me. I collect variants too, so if nothing else, I can add this one to the Crowllection while still keeping the original figure on the BTAS shelf. But I got a second copy to keep in box, and I think I'll be sending it back (which, as a Scarecrow collector, I never thought I'd say). If it ever goes on a major sale, I may snag it again just to have, but as of now, it makes me too frustrated to look at.

Man those are some bizarre choices for the figure - and crazy that's no-one checking this pretty basic stuff (I  mean a Wikipedia search would show you which episode's Scarecrow appears in!)

I also saw Toy Shiz's review of the wave - and the gave Firefly the wrong gun, instead of his fire gun they gave him the same freeze gun as anti-fire Batman!

I haven't been getting any of the re-released TNBA figures since I have the originals from DCD and there's no new BAF to entice me into rebuying them like there are with the BTAS figures - which I find odd that they aren't doing it for as a way to get people to rebuy them again. I might get the blue cape TNBA Batman figure inspired by the old Kenner toy but its more a case of "if I see it for a good price I'll pick it up" rather than actively hunting it down

I've contemplated buying TNBA Joker solely for the hyenas to put with BTAS Harley.  Still haven't bitten though.

Yesterday was the first time I'd seen the new Maxie Zeus wave in stores. Missing Joker, of course, but they had the others. As much as I want Maxie, I didn't bite. I'd rather just get him in one fell swoop if I can, instead of waiting who knows how long to track down the torso piece (it's the one BAF piece I almost never see on ebay, and I don't need to buy a whole other Joker to get it). I already have 3 of the 4 figures (and no real interest in the electric Batman), and even if I sell them to a secondhand store or whatever, I wouldn't get much. Just taking up space in the meantime. Hoping someone will throw the completed BAF up on ebay again; I saw him up a few times but hesitated because of the price and missed out (as is often the case). Hopefully my patience will pay off.

Has anyone ever asked McFarlane why they don’t do BAF characters from TNBA with the TNBA releases? I would much rather have unmade characters like Penguin, Mad Hatter, Clayface etc than pointless postcards. As such, I haven’t brought any of the TNBA re-issues as I have the originals and they offer nothing new. Where as I have brought each wave from TBAS despite having them already just for the new character.

I've learned to view McFarlane as the Willie Wonka of toys.  Things are done for specific reasons and no reason at all.  Why are TNBA figures spared the awful "toon-shading" and yet BTAS figures all come with it despite folks mostly all exclaiming that they don't want it anymore.  We're lucky to have been freed from the side-eye issue that came out of nowhere because he for some reason thought it looked better and more "alive."  That's right, your 7 in plastic action figure looks more alive because it looks like he's wondering who farted in the elevator he's in.

Can I interest you in more action figures that are rare/chase because they show up as slate gray plastic without any paint?
