I'd heard something about McFarlane continuing the Super Powers line as an offhand remark in Todd's interview for SDCC.  A couple of the "leaker" channels mentioned "surprises" regarding the Animated line as well.  Whether that meant the floodgates will open before the license ends, or the line will continue is up for debate though.

I don't know anything, but my guess is that if Todd is able to carry on making DC figures at all, it would center on "DC Direct," since that was technically a separate license. How that's legally tangled up in whatever deal Mattel made is anybody's guess. Currently, the DC Direct stuff includes the animated re-issues. Page Punchers, and the statues. (Not sure about Super Powers.)

Or I could be way off base.

Animated and Super Powers are the only two lines I collect from McFarlane. I wouldn't mind if they were somehow able to continue after Mattel takes over.

if McFarlane could continue the Animated line even after the main licence goes to Mattel that would be great - and hopefully would mean more of the never made figures getting done to fill in the gaps in our collections 🙂

Received the Jonah Hex wave from Target today.  Kinda surreal looking at these figures and seeing how plain they look without the "toon shading."  After a while it sets in how much better they look though.  Happy to finally add Ra's Al Ghul to the collection.  Grey Ghost and Jonah Hex himself are also unique adds to the lineup considering they're deep cuts.  Somewhat strange that I'm finishing Jonah Hex before the Bruce Wayne BAF, but I'm happy with this wave.  Only negative would be that there's little to not definition for mouths on Ra's and Grey Ghost.  But it definitely beats the fine point Sharpie marker line that the DC Direct line did for Mr. Freeze.

Bring on the next BAF wave.  Personally I'd like to see Rupert Thorne or Ubu.
