I have three of these on order. Two from Hobby Search and one from BigBadToyStore. I don’t know why. I’m sick. There is no reason for me to be ordering these. Not when NECA has already produced some beautiful Predators.
Or Is there a reason?
And there is. While I love NECA’s stuff (never bought one, but I love them, and my kids love them), they haven’t hit home for me. the articulation evolution from v-crotches to ball joints is a fantastic move, but somehow they’ve always lacked that super-articulated need of mine. Sculpting wise, NECA is so spot-on gorgeous that it’s hard to find any fault with their work.
Typical me, I wanted more. And more is what I am getting.
Bandai announced their new Monster Arts this year, Aliens vs Predators figures, leading off with the Wolf Predator that should be available in February 2014. In my excitement, I started ordering these left and right. Ordering at Hobby Search and then BigBadToyStore. I did my initial order of one Predator and one Alien, and then I realized that my kids might want a Predator since this summer they were debating buying some of the NECA product. And I was right to do so. I think my youngest will be getting Godzilla 2000 for Christmas and Wolf Predator for his birthday. That would be cool.
The figure is also listed at 7 inches tall, making him the perfect scale for 6-inch action figures. I see lots of fun in my future imagining sessions.
One of the key factors for my decision to pre-order this figure was the articulation, this thing is loaded with it. It has everything that I want and more. And with the sharp looking sculpt this figure is an easy purchase. Of course… now I wait.
You can still preorder this figure at the following spots:
