Marvel Legends – Series 10

Black Panther

A collector favorite, Black Panther was released in his modern outfit and raised the bar on action figure sculpting. Incorporating an incredible sculpt mixed with Marvel Legends levels of articulation this figure set the bar for how action figures would be made. The buck for this figure eventually became a mainstay staple in Marvel Legends.

Mr. Sinister

Another X-collector favorite, Mr. Sinister made his name during the very late ’80s and his popularity skyrocketed during the ’90s. His popularity was bolstered by apearances in the the X-Men cartoon in the ’90s. This is a top notch figure and really looks sharp. Sadly it makes me want a Dave Cockrum/John Byrne styled Colossus more than a Mr. Sinister.

First Appearance Spider-Man

Wait! Spider-man in Marvel Legends! Spider-man has his own successful line and there is no reason on earth that he should be mixed up in Marvel Legends. Yet here he is! In his first appearance styling no doubt. As far as Spidey’s go this is a sharp figure with loads of good articulation. His legs are a bit warped and he’s got a way too big t-crotch, a little sharper integration would have been great.

Mystique

Another train wreck of a figure. Toy Biz is really struggling with their female figures, the prototypes all look fantastic, but something seems to go awry during the production phase. Sadly this collector favorite X-men will not avoid the mountain of internet hate coming her way. Nice head sculpt.

Cyclops

One of the most demanded character, a Neil Adams/Dave Cockrum/John Byrne styled Cyclops. While this clearly shows off a Giant Sized Cyclops, the design had its roots with the pre-giant sized issues with Neil Adams. The figure is almost great! I love the use of the Series 2 Namor buck, but it’s just missing the mark with the lower legs. The boot cuff’s are over huge and the feet ginormous. The hands are bit big, but workable. The boots… no. And he still needs an ab-crunch.

Cyclops X-Factor (Variant)

Toy Biz decided to have a paint variant of Cyke featuring his uber popular X-factor costume. Or one of them. Cyke went through a couple of these costumes. I like the same color version of this costume with the more Neal Adams like book cuff’s.

Angel

Finally Angel! NO! A train wreck. There are number of people that really love this figure, and I know that I’ve apologized on it’s behalf but it’s not a great figure. The head is small (and it’s based on Brad Pitt), the legs wobbly, the chest huge and the wings are so heavy that he’s nigh impossible to pose in a vanilla stance or in a flying stance. Plus his wings are so huge that he’s tough to stick in a display. Love the costume choice!

Angel Blue (Variant)

Another great costume variant. I’m a fan of the Blue Angel, I prefer the Red, but to each his own. With a Red and Blue version you can decide which version goes with the X-Men and which one goes with the Champions.

Omega Red

Based on the Series 5 Sabertooth buck Omega Red is another ’90s popular character that’s mad his way into Marvel Legends. It’s an ok figure and the base figure is solid.

Sentinel

Leave it up to Toy Biz to figure out how to pack this monster Build A Figure into a clamshell packaging. Leave it up to them to figure out how make collectors crazy by buying up 3 – 4 sets of this Series to build multiple Sentinels. Insanity. By far one of the more fun Build A Figures, this one is great for battles with your growing X-Men figure sets.
