Toy Biz Marvel Legends Series 5 Mr. Fantastic

Welcome to the official Fwoosh Marvel Legends Archives. In this topic you will find complete and accurate (to the best of our abilities) information on every character in every series of Marvel Legends. We will feature release dates, figure information (including variant information, accessories, points of articulation and sculptors), and links to pictures in the Fwoosh Archive (as they become available). We hope that this will be a good resource for current fans of the line and anyone wanting some background information on Marvel Comics Greatest Superheroes and Villains.

This guide is an on-going work-in-progress. We will continue to update the guide as new information, picture availability and series are released so check back often. Please remember: this guide is for YOU so if you have and questions, comments or condemnations let us know.

Blade

This is Blade 2 if memory serves. Blade 1 came out as a pre-six inch line of action figures that were quite Marvel Legends and were an evolutionary step towards it. Blade always seems to be a collector favorite and bolstered by movies his popularity only ascends. This is a great figure with great accessories and a seriously good cloth jacket.

Colossus

My personal favorite. I remember finding him in Mallorca while I was on vacation. I’m a huge Colossus follower, loved the character in the Giant Sized era and continued to like him for many years. The character’s never found solid footing in the Marvel Universe, he’s just another super strong dude that turns to metal. The figure is fantastic, some collectors take issue with the head sculpt, but they are crazy, this is an excellent headsculpt based off Art Adams. As with the other X-Men to date we are getting a strong Jim Lee era look.

Mr. Fantastic

Finally! Another member of the Fantastic Four, you might remember Thing and Human Torch, all we need now is the Invisible Woman. Mr. Fantastic drew much rage when the released figure came out with a different head sculpt than the prototype, instead of a classic “John Byrne” styled head we got this squished elongated something. But we did get a part to the Fantastic Tub, it’s a start.

Nick Fury

The Director of Shield and super spy extra-ordinaire finally makes his appearance in Marvel Legends. Using an updated Namor body with new forearms and lower legs this is a bitching figure. There are some complaints about the noggin being a bit on the large size, and they have not incorporated an ab-joint into this buck. But everything else is super cool. Love the jetpack! Love there is a spot in the mouth for a custom cigar!

Sabertooth

Making his first appearance in Marvel Legends, Sabertooth comes to us on a new buck. This is a sculpt that is huge and ominous and perfect for the Jim Lee era Sabertooth. Collectors don’t have much to complain about with this figure, well, besides the screaming mouth, otherwise pure gold.

Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer is another popular character among collectors and this figure is perfectly fitted on the Daredevil buck used in Spider-man Classics. The head is a bit small and seems to channel John Buscema more than it channels Jack Kirby. Magnets is his feet keep him on his surfboard, and he has a super popular pack-in!

Howard the Duck

A surprise pack-in, Toy Biz snuck in this little Donald Duck clone into the Silver Surfer package. He’s a great figure with little articulation, but for those wanting Howard he’s a great fit. Now, make a Man-Thing.

Red Skull

Captain America has some bitching enemies that span over a few decades. The Red Skull is the best. He’s a fantastic character and great mirror for everything that Cap isn’t. However, this figure blows, it’s based on the Daredevil movie action figure and it really just sucks. While the “Nazi” styled uniform is catching, it has very limited posability and seems out of place on the shelf with the other Marvel Legends. Here’s to hoping they get Red Skull right one day.
