Okay, as I am sure you know, the DC Club Infinite Earth’s kick off year has been humming along nicely by this point and from the looks of it, 2013 looks to be just as good as 2012. One of the big promises of the subscription was to really help us continue and complete important teams of the DC Universe. Well, Lead, Platinum and Tin will be along shortly to help the Metal Men along, and on-sale (tomorrow!) is the big and small stalwart of the Doom Patrol, Elasti-Girl! Yep, after nothing from Earth’s strangest heroes since DCUC series 13, Rita Farr is saying, “here comes the DOOM!” as she picks up where Negative Man left off. Now, since her on-sale time is less than 24 hours away, I am going to keep it brief so that you can get a good look at some pictures before she lands on Matty Collector. So, short is the word and fast is the action. That’s what she said! Har.

What can I say about this? You are finally getting your Elasti-Girl and she is pretty much exactly what you would expect and she delivers in the places where she should. She has the very classic throwback 1960s look to her and her simple red and white outfit and space race-era modern hairdo really help to sell the look. She really does look like she took a giant step right off of the comic book page.
She does share some pieces with the elusive Giganta, but probably not as many as you would expect. All of her joints are nice and tight and as long as you get her hips square, her balance is just fine. Her torso articulation is a slight floating rib cage and if you have some of the newer DC ladies like Star Sapphire, you will know what it is like. Her skirt is soft enough that it doesn’t overly-limit her leg movement, but as you would imagine, she cannot execute the splits or anything.
Elasti-Girl is a pretty figure too, in my opinion. Her features are soft and she has a pretty neutral expression. The paint on the face is sharp so her lips are clean and she does not have derpy eyes. In fact, her eye shape is very feminine and her eyebrows thin and trimmed too. The shape of her head also looks good and her headband gives her hair a bit of a “bump” towards the back. This elongates the face just enough to highlight her cheek bones.
Other than that, she comes with one accessory: herself. Yep, there is a tiny Rita included as well and it is actually one of (if not THE) the smallest pack in figures I have ever seen. It is blown up in the pictures here, but it is really tiny and for as small as she is, the paint applications are actually not bad. Doll Man comes with Uncle Sam next month (more on that soon) and he is even MUCH bigger than this little number. It is a fun pack in, but I think most people will be displaying the larger Ms. Farr.
Finally! Another member of the Doom Patrol! I know a lot of us expected her to be a Collect and Connect in the DCUC line, but this is certainly a great way to get the oversized figures. I really wish the 2013 line sold well enough to get us more big characters, but maybe we can get back on track for 2014. I am just glad to get her, but I want to take this opportunity to remind Mattel and the Patrol is NOT done yet! We still need Mento and The Chief (pictured here is my kit bash made from a Movie Masters Harvey Dent and the alternate Starman head). I apologize for the brevity of this article, but like I said, it was a tight deadline! This is the Elasti-Girl you have been waiting for for a long time, I think most DC fans will be quite happy with this large and lovely lady! Don’t forget that she is on-sale tomorrow at NOON Eastern time.

*Thanks for checking out this First Look and thanks to Toy Guru for making it possible! We still have lots of DC left for this round so stay tuned over the next few days.
