Created in 1963 by the genius of Smilin’ Stan Lee and Jack "King" Kirby, The Avengers was a band of heroes brought together by circumstance. Destined to become the greatest assemblage of heroes in the Marvel U, the Avengers have always been a team with a fluid roster at best. Shown here in the first wave of Avengers Classics are original members The Hulk (in his purple shorts) and Iron Man shown here in his original gray armor), along with Goliath (a later costumed identity of Hank Pym, originally Ant Man) and Black Panther.
