We are continuing our look at the latest Fortnite Legendary Series wave with a look at Gundam Robot Chicken, Sentinel. Let’s take a look!
Sentinel comes in the standard packaging with the large window up front and a big character model on the back. It’s worth noting that the other new characters on the cross-sell, Galaxy and Ruin just went up for sale on Amazon this week.

Sentinel comes with a shotgun, a machine gun pistol, a shield potion vial, a pickaxe, removeable wings, and a bottle.
The shotgun is a familiar weapon and looks good, but the figures aren’t really designed to hold it properly. Up/Down wrist articulation would help with this a lot, but as is Sentinel can hold the gun in cool guy poses or at waist level.
The machine gun pistol is cartoonishly large and the two-fingered hands don’t really grasp it all that convincingly. With the weapons I do wish they had gone for some more sci-fi looking stuff. I can’t remember where I saw this, but he actually looks pretty great with Gundam model weapons.

The potion vial is cast in a nice translucent plastic that sells the idea of a glass container well. It has a little hole in the back for the thumb to help the figure hold it.
The bottle also has a hole to assist in a solid hold. I think it’s supposed to be a Storm in the Bottle weapon and I’m sure that would be more significant to the people who play the game but it’s a little dull on its own.
The backpack has wings that swivel. From what I can tell from the game model, they are meant to point down. They can swivel up, but I don’t like the look as much.
If you spin the pack around, however I do like how the wings look outstretched upward.
The sculpting on this guy is pretty great. It conveys that manga mech look to perfection with the sharp edges and panel lines. The design feels very reminiscent of a Gundam robots merged with a rooster and I suppose this could be another food mascot like a fried chicken place.

Articulation is typical for the line with:
- Swivel/hinge neck, shoulders, hips, ankles, and wrists
- Swivel biceps and thighs
- Double hinged knees and elbows
- Single hinge toes and grip
- Ball and socket mid-torso wobble
Some of the joints have somewhat limited range of motion due to the blocky nature of the design. For example, the shoulders can’t hinge upward very far (especially on the left arm) and the bicep swivels don’t swivel much when the arms are down at the sides.

Paint is decent on this figure with most of the body in a neat, pearlescent white with some metallic gold and red for details.

I really like the design and appearance of this figure, but I find the articulation and weapons a little less fun to play with than most Fortnite figures.
