I’m a SoCal kid from the ’80s and Disneyland was a big part of my life growing up so the Star Tours ride was a huge part of the Star Wars experience for me. That’s probably why I’m so excited for Galaxy’s Edge, the new Disneyland theme park section designed to immerse park visitors in the Galaxy Far, Far Away. We recently got a huge data dump of Galaxy’s Edge info, including a look at some park exclusive merch that got me thinking about what kind of Black Series figures I’d like to see from Galaxy’s Edge.
We recently got news of this First Order Disney park exclusive three pack and that FO Mountain trooper got me wondering if maybe that’s something from Galaxy’s Edge or maybe Episode IX or both. Galaxy’s Edge is located in a mountainous area…
A bunch of media outlets like Nerdist, ABC, Entertainment Weekly and recently got a tour of the still under construction land and reported about ride details, merchandise, food, and other attractions from the upcoming land. So fair warning, this may be spoiler material if you want to experience everything fresh. Can you have spoilers for theme parks? I don’t know, people are so dang sensitive these days so better safe than sorry I suppose.

Speaking of sensitive, I do realize there are many more deserving characters across all the movies and TV shows. I know. I’ve made the lists. This is meant to be little fun, so please take it in the spirit intended.
Star Wars has always been on the forefront of merchandising, so while this whole theme park extravaganza does whiff of the ultimate corporate synergy money grab in the history of such things, I’m glad to see everything I’ve seen from the park so far has an interesting and thought out story element to it. Even the workers are getting fairly elaborate costumes that help them blend in with the Star Wars environment. My first runner up would be a set of the random staff costumes.
I realize this is probably the most bizarre and never will happen idea I’ve ever had in one of these lists, but it would tickle me so much to get a figure of a random Disneyland cast member in their Galaxy’s Edge get-up.
My next runner up would be one of the shopkeeps in the upcoming land, Dok-Ondar. Already mentioned in Solo and the subject of an upcoming comic-book, Dok is an Ithorian trader who will apparently be on site in a shop at Galaxy’s Edge in the form of a giant animatronic figure.
I love me some Ithorians and I have a feeling that Dok is going to become a fixture of the land and make for a super cool figure. That’s it for runners up, let’s move on to the top 5!
5. Vi Moradi
Vi is a character that I first met and really enjoyed in a Star Wars book, Delilah Dawson’s Captain Phasma. She’s a spy for The Resistance and all signs indicate she will have a presence at the park. The above concept art was handed out to people at Disney fan events last year, so I think we’ll see her and I already really like the classic rebel look with a nice twist in the form of a red jacket.
4. Harkos
Harkos is another character we found out about from the concept art trading cards and I was immediately drawn to the design. He’s a bounty hunter that will interact with guests somehow as part of planned park immersion. At first I thought he might be a Marauder (the Villains from the ’85 classic Battle for Endor), but looking closer I think he might be a Nikto. Still, I dig the ’80s vibe off of this guy and his battered, but vivid yellow armor.
3. DJ Rex
While I really like the updated Star Tours ride, one element from the original that I miss is the pilot droid RX-24. Well one such pilot droid will be returning to duty at Galaxy’s Edge, he’ll just be playing music at the local Cantina instead of flying. You would probably think that a good decision if you ever flew on that original Star Tours.
They already have some Rex merch planned. Apparently he will be available to buy at a Droid Depot store and will work as a blue tooth speaker. While I dig the new orange DJ Rex paint job, I wouldn’t mind a black series of RX-24 from the Star Tours days either.

2. Nien Nunb
While nobody had a picture of him in the recent articles, it was revealed that there will be an actual animatronic Nien Nunb located in one of the rides at Galaxy’s edge. Supposedly they tracked down the original voice actor from Return of the Jedi to voice him again for this. I’m super excited to see this little dude live and in person! I’ve been banging the drum for a Black Series Nien Nunb for a while now, so I’ll take any excuse!
- Hondo Ohnaka
Everybody’s favorite Star Wars pirate, Hondo has been teased as being part of this park for a while now. One of the earliest videos for the park that I can recall seeing showed a sculptor working on a life size Hondo sculpt.

Based on that picture, I had been hoping we’d see either an animatronic or walk around Hondo character at the park. Well, the recent news stories confirmed that there will be a Hondo animatronic and he’s one of the most advanced that they have. On top of that there’s a video showing the almost creepily lifelike Hondo figure.
It does my Rebels and Clone Wars loving heart to see this animated character brought into the literal real world in this way. I’ve wanted a Hondo figure for a while now, but this just intensified that need. Let’s do this, Hasbro! For Synergy!
Well, that’s all my crazy Disney Park action figure daydreams, what are yours? Let me know in the comments below!
