SP//dr is the latest and greatest Build a Figure from Marvel Legends. Hasbro delivers another Spiderverse favorite in the mech suit of Peni Parker, Earth bunchanumbers resident Spider-person.
Let me be totally honest, I don’t remember Peni Parker in Spiderverse and I feel badly about that. In going back to research the character, I couldn’t get any decent hits on Google, I have no idea if she lived through Spiderverse or was horribly killed during the struggle.
When the BAF was announced I was like, “huh”? I mean I get it, SP//dr is a cool looking design and it is a part of the hugely popular Spiderverse, but I’d rather have gotten something, anything else.
Here we are, with a BAF that is actually really pretty to look at. It’s a great design and Hasbro translated it into a great sculpt. It’s a beautiful piece of plastic. It’s got some serious articulation and almost all of it is functional, the shoulders are bit limited in their range of movement. The pegs that keep the arms in place easily pop out and the ball shoulders are limited in their range of movement. I’m not certain what I was expecting with the monster shoulder pauldrons, but there’s the only nit-pick.
I don’t recommend that anyone goes out and buys this BAF from eBay, personally it’s not something that is needed for a collection. Unless you are doing Spiderverse (or Gwenverse), then yeah you need it. If you are collecting the entire series, then yeah you’ll get the figure. You can pick up a set of SP//dr at:
