I just cracked open the first Red Sonja from Boss Fight Studios and I love it, so I hopped on the pre-order for this Steam Punk pirate Red Sonja quickly even though I have zero familiarity with the source material.
Like the recently released Red Sonja, this one comes with various overlays that can swap out to give you different looks. The accessories look appropriately piratical, and I especially like the ornate rapier and beer stein. Red Sonja is available for preorder at the usual places like BBTS and Entertainment Earth, but if you order direct from Boss Fight’s website there is a pre-order bonus of a slightly different top and axe. Seems to me those would also work really well with the recently released figure if you wanted a different style of metal bikini.
I’m not really sure what I’ll use this figure with or how it fits in my collection, but at first glance I could totally see her as the Steampunk Pirate captain that Nightcrawler encounters on a cross-time caper. The price is a little spendy at $59.99, but these are smaller run figures and I feel like I got good value out of the recent Red Sonja.
