  1. I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment. Though I don’t fully share it in this case, I do know that feeling. I’m sure you’ve thought of all this, but I’ll offer my perspective from one collector to another.

If you normally open your figures, I would encourage you to open Cheetara and see how you feel. Sometimes my feelings about a figure change after opening it. Cheetara is my favorite as well, and Thundercats is one of my top favorite properties. While the figure could be better, it’s the best we’ve got. It’s still Cheetara, and I still get that hit of Thundercats nostalgia.

I understand your position on Chilla, but “fear of missing out” usually gets the better of me. Lesser-known characters from other Super7 Ultimates lines have recently been canceled due to low preorders. The Rescuers, Guinan, Madame Woe and the Tigerzord…all canceled.

And the price difference is only $5.

You say Chilla is one of your absolute favorites, and that you hope you don’t regret skipping her. That’s a bit telling, don’t you think? 😉

All the best in whichever path you take.

  2. I am conflicted.
Cheetara and Chilla are my absolute favorites in ThunderCats. I was beyond excited when Super 7 revealed Cheetara several years ago (4? I don’t remember).
Then the long production wait time led to forgetting I preordered her. Then they announced that she was ready for production, then production was delayed, and delayed some more, and finally she arrived last year.
And I was disappointed. The cost and the wait and the final product added up to a ho-hum experience, a toy that’s still in its packaging, and feeling ‘once bitten, twice shy’.
If Chilla were the same price as Cheetara from a few years ago, I’d lean closer to preorder, but as it is, I’ll sit this one out and hope I don’t regret it later.

  3. Yeah, you are. We’ve seen pre-order bonuses with G.I. Joe and Conan so this isn’t a surprise. There’s zero reason to preorder these things without some kind of incentive.

  4. I don’t like the glowing eye heads being a Super7 exclusive for buying the whole wave. If they want to make headpacks exclusive that’s cool. I’ll buy them. But as a “bonus” it just doesn’t feel right to me. Fans have been asking for a glowing eyes head pack since the beginning. This shows that Super7 is able and willing to make them. But the way they are being made “available” misses the mark. Are we going to see other waves with this same kind of “bonus”? This is a disappointment from a company that I hold as one of the top customer friendly businesses in the industry.

  5. They all look fantastic, as usual. Wilykat looks so much better than the Mattel version, particularly the hair sculpt and the hands. Chilla is cool. PLEASE MAKE WIZZ-RA!

  6. well this wave is a tad underwhelming. I guess I’ll just order Chilla since I have the older Wily Kat and Kit versions!
