I’ve always loved the Scout Trooper design, and I used to think of them as Biker Scouts, so I’m fascinated by the way video games have used the trooper in recent years. In Battlefront the scout is the sniper class, and in Jedi: Fallen Order the scout fights with some sort of electrified baton and both takes really work for me. I already supplied one of my scouts with a sniper rifle, so I’m glad Hasbro went ahead and did the work for me and equipped a Scout Trooper figure with the Fallen Order style electro-baton and web gear. Let’s take a look!
I am really enjoying the accent color on these Gaming Greats boxes. Not enough to save them from the recycling bin, but they look very cool.
The Scout Trooper comes with an electro-baton with an energy effect and blaster pistol. The pistol is the same one that comes with the original Black Series Scout Trooper figure and fits in the boot holster. It’s a little on the small side and I find that these can fall out easily, so I recommend caution.

The baton is nicely detailed and matches the game art well. I think it is slightly too thick for the figure’s hand, though if they made it much thinner, that thinner part would probably bend too easily. The energy effect is a little loose on the baton, but it does have a closed loop, so it stays in place much better than the energy effects on the Electrostaff Purge Trooper.
The figure is 95% re-used from the original Scout Trooper figure without the front pouches and there is web gear glued to the torso. The web gear has some wires that run down the right arm and attach on a ring.
The paint is kind of interesting because I think it’s the first time we’ve got a completely clean scout trooper. They are kind of weathered in the game, so I can’t say I love this decision, but it does take me back to my vintage figure and I do like the gloss black they added to the visor.

The articulation is effective and I found him easy to get into the appropriate fighting poses and he balances well. He has:
- Ball and socket head and mid-torso wobble
- Swivel/hinge shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles
- Swivel biceps, thighs and boots
- Double hinged knees and elbows
- Hinged neck
The web gear does prevent full rotation on the mid-torso wobble, but not much more than the pouches did on the original figure.

I make a lot of wish-lists for figures I want to see and since my taste tends toward the obscure I don’t often get my way, so it is especially gratifying when I do get a figure I requested like these last two Gaming Greats figures. This figure is a lot of fun to pose with a group of troops and fighting against the Cal Kestis figure. The inflated price does still sting a bit, though less so on this figure since it got all the new tooling it really needed.
