Bandai: S.H. Figuarts Star Wars Heavy Infantry Mandalorian Promo Images and Info

Bandai’s getting ready for Mandalorian season with Paz Vizla!

It always throws me when Tamashii Nations announces an S.H. Figuarts Star Wars character they haven’t shown before, considering the amount of prototypes we’ve seen over the years. I kind of expected the Biker Scout with Speeder or the Stormtrooper, but I’m not going to gripe about some Heavy Infantry action.

I’m REALLY digging the sculpt. It’s more accurate than the Black Series Heavy Mando, but that’s the benefit of waiting a year after the character’s debut rather than having to work off concept art and preliminary designs in order to pull off the magnificent feat of releasing the figure as Vizla appeared on the show. That was cool.

Also, this is S.H. Figuarts, so I’m expecting it to be more mobile too. It’s a chunk of plastic so I’m not thinking high kicks or handstands, but a good amount of range.

The thing that throws me, and it’s the same problem I had with the first SHF Mandalorian, is the colors. Too dark. Too saturated. Too clean. I miss the dirt and grime and almost muted palette. He already looked like a construction vehicle, this ramps it up a bit more.

Accessories seem to be a muzzle blast for the heavy gun, a knife, and some blasts for the jetpack. Not sure if there’s anything else yet because the official solicitation doesn’t go up until Oct. 1st.

The Heavy Infantry Mandalorian is a general release so you’ll be able to order from any overseas online shop. It’ll run about $114 and ship February 2021.
