Hasbro: Star Wars Black Series Sith Jet Trooper

Did you get the Jet Trooper from the last wave and think, “I need this in red”? Well, Hasbro has got you covered. Let’s take a look at the Sith Jet Trooper!

The Sith Jet Trooper is number 106 in the line and gets a little lost against the red background of the usual Black Series box.

He comes with one blaster that will be familiar to you if you have the Sith Troopers from Hasbro’s Black Series. It’s a nice and sharp sculpted piece that fits well in the hand and clips securely onto the hole in the side of the right thigh. It’s a fine accessory, but I do wish there was some translucent flame effects for the jet pack jets.

The figure is a complete repaint of the regular Jet Trooper which is accurate as far as I can tell and the original is a very nicely sculpted figure.

Paint is minimal but effective since he’s mostly cast in the gloss red plastic. This plastic feels a bit glossier than the Sith Trooper and I think it’s more effective. I like the tampo’d symbol on the chest armor, though I think the jets on the jet pack could stand to be a little more silver.

The articulation is pretty standard with:

  • Swivel/hinge shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and ankles
  • Ball and socket head, neck, and mid-torso
  • Thigh and jet swivels
  • Double hinged knees

I especially like the range of motion in the neck and side to side mid-torso wobble. The front crunch motion is a little limited due to the chest armor design. The thigh armor also keeps the legs from kicking forward much as they but up against the belt.

I love the little detail that the jets swivel.

I wasn’t initially excited for this figure because he’s a rehash, but it’s a very effectively done repaint that makes sense. He looks great with a squad of Sith Troopers and I definitely would like to collect one or two more for my army.
