Hasbro: Marvel Legends Avengers: Endgame Citizen V Review

We’re continuing our look at the Avengers: Endgame Marvel Legends wave with Citizen V. A staple of ’90s Marvel, the most well known version of Citizen V was actually Baron Helmut Zemo in disguise. Zemo put together the Thundbolts, an infamous team of Super-Villains posing as heroes, and the reveal of the team is one of the more celebrated comic book moments from that time. Let’s take a look!

Zemo comes in the usual packaging and includes a Thanos leg, a removeable cape, and a sword.

The sword is cast in a fairly soft plastic and was a little bent out of the package. It’s a little thin and loose in the figure’s hand and I’m not a fan of the light metallic plastic, but it fits the character.

The cape is one piece of semi-flexible plastic that includes the two over-sized shoulder pads. The cape is sculpted as if it’s blowing in the wind and I like the way it looks. I think getting it up off the shoulder was a good choice since this design was going to be problematic for articulation any way you slice it, but this allows for decent range of arm motion on the right arm.

I also like that it securely attaches in place via a long peg in the back. Sometimes these Marve Legends capes don’t stay put where they are supposed too and this on was engineered right.

The sculpt looks like a new head, belt, and cape on the recent Daredevil from the SP//dr wave, but it works pretty well for me as Citizen V. I think I would have liked matching leg wraps for the boots. The head also seems a little on the small side for my taste, but not ridiculously so for a super-hero figure.

The articulation is Marvel Legends standard, and the figure moves well for the most part. It will move around those massive shoulder pads very well, though it starts to look weird if you bend the pads too much.

Paint is good. I like that the wraps and shoes get a wash and the metallics on the shoulder pad are nice, but wish there was a nice silver on that sword. I also wonder a bit about color.

The blue looks good, and I know there have been a lot of people in the Citizen V gear and the outfit has changed over time, but when I think of Citizen V, I tend to think of the purple tinged costume from Thunderbolts.

Overall Citizen V is a good, middle of the road figure. He’s not too flashy, but gets the job done. Definitely worth a pickup if you like the Thunderbolts. It’s also nice to see some more Thunderbolts representation in the line as they were a big deal for a quite a while in the Marvel Universe.

He’s also got a big Thanos leg with him, so there’s that.
