It’s eBay Frenzy, it’s custom Marvel Legends, yeah yeah yeah, but today, more than just a lot of great customs out there, the presentation also caught my eye in a lot of cases. Backgrounds, effects, they drew me in even more than character selection. It also doesn’t help that I was at a small con yesterday with a great selection of cheap fodder, so it got me flowing on making some customs. I bought parts and now eBay is giving me some ideas.
It’s a completely different monster to sit down and start them though. Don’t judge me.
I know a lot of people want a ML Armadillo, and this looks to be a great recipe for one.
I was going to make a head joke here but I feel like it’s been played out. Benty. Avengers Beast sculpt. Fantastic paint. I love it.
I’ve accepted the fact that I will buy anything on a vintage (I’m old enough to want to rant about calling something from high school years “vintage” but still young enough to know it would sound like an old man ranting about calling something from his high school years “vintage”) card and leave it carded even though I’m a steadfast opener, and Thanos is no different.
These announced Alpha Flight figures have me needing more from the team, and even though I don’t remember this Vindicator costume as much as the red and white, I think I’d take this one to be more different from Guardian. Plus, don’t get me wrong, I’d still take a red and white Vindicator too. Do you see a pattern to my wants yet? Any and all.
I realize we have gotten the character in Legends before, but that Namor (I think this is a Namor base? So many bases these days) is screaming to be made into a Ka-Zar.
Rom. What more do I have to say? It’s Rom.
I’m not familiar with this costume for Mirage but it evokes the character, based in that classic New Mutant. Works for me.
I don’t think this is an actual Black Knight costume but judging from the customizer’s other auctions, seems he does some original designs. Plus the pictures are kickass.
I’m sneaking a Harley Quinn in here. It’s a Legends base and it’s rooted in more of a realistic feel, but I dig the overall design and again, the presentation.
I’m a sucker for the old Armored Spider-Man design. The grid pattern, the silver and black, and Spider-Man-ness of it all. And this custom nails it.
And while not up for auction, I also like the Iron Fist in one of the other pics.
Just look how clean this Super-Skrull is!
Some people may not like the Venom movie, but I thought it was big dumb fun, and I would have no problem buying an action figure based on it. Especially if it’s as crisp as this one. The highlights are insane!
And finally, Maverick. Damn it, why don’t we have a Maverick yet? Better yet, a Team X three pack with Sabretooth and Wolverine.
