SDCC 2018: More Mattel DC Pics

I was impressed with the new figures Mattel revealed today for their DC Multiverse line. Take a look at a few more pictures from the Mattel booth!

I still haven’t had a chance to watch Batman Ninja, but I find the character designs really interesting. The Batman and Joker figures shown today looked impressive. I’m curious at how functional the articulation will be because they could end up being nice alternatives to the import figures at a more affordable price point.

I can’t say I much care for Mattel’s take on Movie and TV characters for the most part. They feel a little soft to me.

The comic figures all looked pretty solid to me. I’m liking the proportions and sculpts. The newer teen body they use for Kid Flash and Batman Beyond are particularly solid. I don’t think I’ll be able to pass on that Batman Beyond as it fixes my one gripe with the original DCUC figure (it was too buff for Terry). Including a screaming head for Black Canary seems like something they should always do for that character.

Something I missed yesterday was a little chart next to the Aquaman diorama that listed all the characters and creatures shown in the display. Even if I end up disliking that movie, I feel like I’m going to need a couple of those figure and shark packs.

Finally, I’m including a picture that wasn’t properly exposed, but looked kinda neat.
