Whoa, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? The eBay Frenzy feature usually pops up in the winter time, when it’s too cold to go out and….do whatever people do outdoors. It’s also about the time I get a little fuel in the customs tank and venture out searching for ideas and cast pieces. Which inevitably leads to eBay and spending way too much time browsing through auctions. So let’s take a look at some of the ones that caught my eye!
Seriously, why do we not have a Spot yet? It seems like it would be fairly simple. Wait, there’s not “seems” to it. This would be damn simple! C’mon Hasbro!
Same goes for Silver Sable. Just one of those characters that is so deliciously a product of that era. The solver would really pop on the shelf. Need. Now.
Yondu has gotten a lot of spotlight in recent years thanks to the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and getting a Vance Astro has given me some faith that we may someday get an official figure. But until then, customs it is.
It throws me when I see a DC character on a Legends body, having spent so many years growing accustomed to the DCUC base, but this Blue Beetle is stellar.
I think I’ve featured this before but it’s too good to pass up. A custom head for Rebels Kanan from later seasons. It would go right along with the Rebels season 4 Rex head cast that I picked up today.
Yet another on the NEEDed list of Marvel characters (which is insanely long, shut up) is Black Tom. We got a great Juggernaut, now we need his best pal.
Everyone knows I haven’t read a lot of modern comics. Not out of “Harumph, modern sucks” but more “I need more hours in a day!” I think the Punisher War Machine is a thing but I’m not sure. Either way it makes for a kickass figure.
There’s a lot of Count Dooku custom heads and casts floating around out there but not a lot of corresponding lightsabers. This one is fairly nice.
Again, modern comics and all that, but I dig the color scheme on this Secret Empire Captain America.
Very, VERY nice Pixie! Everything about this figure is seamless.
I really like the recipe for this 6-inch G.I.Joe Destro, except for the forehead jewel still showing. But Joes is another biggie on my 1/12 scale wishlist and if Hasbro won’t give them to us, customs are the only route.
You would think as crazy some of the toy companies are about Iron Man we’d have a decent Crimson Dynamo by now. But nope. Not yet.
This Living Tribunal may seem simple but the more I look at it, the more I wonder. What head is that? How smooth is that gold? Is that an overlay of silver? It’s mesmerizing.
Blue Marvel is another genius recipe. I can’t tell what is custom and what is factory.
I’m a complete sucker for Cyclops figures. And the X-Factor team uniforms are so…well…uniform that it’s hard not to want the whole team.
Am I missing something with this Jabba and throne lot? It seems like a ton of stuff for the price. I’m heavy in the market for a nice throne for my display but I’m kind of overwhelmed and befuddled by what’s going on here.
I know we’re getting a Madrox, and this isn’t my favorite costume, but this Multiple Man just looks tough. And clean. And badass.
I never cared much about the Shi’ar Imperial Guard except for maybe Gladiator, but if we could get figures of various members as beautiful as this Astra custom I would be all over them. I can’t say enough good things about this.
And finally, I’ve been seeing a lot of this custom on Instagram and it makes me yearn for one. I need to figure out the exact colors all of these guys are using. With as many Fetts I have on the shelf, not to mention an extra model kit, I should have at least one Boba in the vintage colors. It’s too good not to have.
