Bandai: S.H. Figuarts The Last Jedi Stormtrooper and BB-9E

This Stormtrooper rocks. It’s hand candy, tons and tons of fun to roll over in your hands, fun to pose and to kick all kinds of ass. It isn’t fault-free, but it more than makes up for them with fun factor. This Stormtrooper is from the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Special Set of Captain Phasma, Stormtrooper, and BB-9E.

The basic Stormtrooper base figure has many a review on the Fwoosh, even as recently as this week (Executioner Stormtrooper), so I’m not going to spend a lot time discussing the history, articulation, and sculpt. Let’s just say that the sculpt and articulation is like 95 percent perfect; the only issue that I have is that the heels are on the small side and the ankle armor inhibits ankle movement.

But that’s small fry when take into consideration the the double-jointed elbows actually have an incredible range of motion. Yeah, we’ve covered this before but that was such a downer with the Clone Troopers (not a showstopper, I love the Clones).

The best part of the Stormtrooper is the inclusion of three different pauldrons: white, black, and red. Each color represents a different rank: black for enlisted, white for sergeants, and red for Captains. With all three pauldrons and some extra troopers, you could do some serious army building.

The other exciting part of this set is BB-9E, which we know nothing about. Except he’s bad. How bad? No idea, we’ll find out shortly. The droid is pretty cool. It’s a ball on a clear base with a ball-and-socket head. So yeah, cool.

The Stormtrooper, Phasma, and BB-9E all came as part of a Force Friday drop set. It’s a great set and tons of fun, but difficult to find online — maybe eBay or Amazon. I’d recommend that you pick it up for your Star Wars collection.

BigBadToyStore is sold out, but the have The Force Awakens Stormtrooper.

ImageAnime has The Last Jedi Stormtrooper for sale as a single.
