Cammy is one of my favorite Street Fighter characters. I can’t explain why, but the character really pops to me, and it’s not just the scantily clad outfit; it’s the green outfit, the red armored gloves, and the combat boots — she just pops on the screen. And in my growing Street Fighter display.
I don’t know how deep I’ll go with Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts Street Fighter figures, but I know I will be getting core classic characters. Cammy appearing in 1993’s Street Fighter 2 makes her pretty core, in my opinion. There will be a lot that I skip, depending on what gets released.
I almost love this figure, I mean it’s, like, 95 percent perfect for me, and that says a lot since I can be really picky. As in my previous reviews of Chun-Li and Ryu, I am still a bit surprised at the scale of these figures, they are big in height but big all around. If you are comparing them to other S.H. Figuarts, they are not in scale. They aren’t in scale with Marvel Legends per se, and they seem to have their own scaled identity. They do match their game sprites closely, though.
That 5 percent I don’t like? Are you ready? I know Robo’s already gonna ping me about using a paragraph on this. But here goes. It’s her ass. And, yes, I know this could get me in trouble. But let me say, I love the sculpt and I think she looks great. But it’s the execution that kills me. She’s got this classic style of a plastic ass sheath over her hind legs, but as we’ve seen Bandai doesn’t need to do this. With the upcoming R Mika they don’t have the ass cover, so why does Cammy need one? With the great ass sculpt on the legs, why cover it up with a plastic cover? She doesn’t. Again, minor quibble, enough to fill a paragraph, enough to get some groans, and enough to have Robo shake his head at me,
Love love love the articulation on this figure. Range of movement is out of this world and there is so much handy handy going on. The only joint I’ve felt lacking is the neck. She can look down, but looking up?
Cammy comes with the usual round of extra heads and hands. She also has some serious kick effects. And, of course, the cardboard background.
I love this figure and it totally kills on all levels. She blows the old SOTA figure straight out of the water. It’s a sharp-looking figure with great colors and it pops on the shelf. I strongly recommend picking her up here:
